“Terrible Service adequate food and drink”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014 via mobile

Looked like the place to have a sit down for a drink and something to eat lots of tables and many people seated already. Worst waiter ever. He came to the table asking for order without having brought is food or drinks menu, had to retrieve menu one for the table. Drinks came in different stages. Food was a long time coming, it was ok as bar food goes. Trying to get the check took 30 minutes and another very nice server to settle it for us. I would not recommend.

“Great 1/2 Hour Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

I took the 1/2 hour tour (5 euros). This was the perfect timeframe for me. I am not a wine connoisseur, but was happy to get educated in this 'crash course.' I learned a lot about the whole port wine making process as well as an interesting history of Sandeman. The wine tasting (tawny and sherry) at the end of the tour (in a most sublime setting) was fantastic.

“One of the better ones”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2014

I tried three cellars/wine tasting tours and this would be ranked as second. Far better than Camel. The tour was informative and the guide had done her job well. The charge for 5 Euro and you'll spend an hour there. A nice part of the walking tour at Gaia. I did it in the afternoon and then continued for a drink and then dinner. Very relaxing.

“Interesting, cheap and lovely wine.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014 via mobile

Only had time to do the Classic tour but found it very informative and interesting given the cheap price. Loved the history behind the brand and the tasting at the end was excellent. Shop at the end was lovely and surprisingly not overly expensive.

“Excellent way to spend an hour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2014

Found the tour and tasting excellent
Our tour guide Rita was friendly and well informed and the shop was very good at the end.
We were amazed at the cost and only had time for the classic tour at 5 euro with good sized samples at the end and then a discount at the shop.
We had lots of photos in this lovely old monastery and felt we had gained a lot of new information about port wine and it's production. I am far more inclined to purchase this quality product for a variety of occasions now.
Thanks to the staff
