The views from the restaurant are spectacular, especially in the outside eating area. We decided to have the Chefs Special menu - the smaller of the two tasting menus. The tasting menu consisted of around 7 dishes (although in fact you receive nearer 12 in all when done) and while we waited for the first course a selection of amouse bouchée were served. All were beautifully presented and very tasty. We were looking forward to starting our menu.
Unfortunately while the presentation of each dish from the menu was exquisite the flavour wasn't. Quite a few dishes were bland and while some of their components added vibrant colour and impact in presentation, they had very little to sometimes no flavour. I can remember just 2 dishes, one of those was spectacular, the other OK, and the rest forgettable. This meant that the 3 plus hours it took to get through the menu was quite tiring and sadly boring because we lost interest in the food. For a tasting menu to work each dish must have that wow factor in both flavour and presentation, and it shouldn't take 3 hours to deliver. This was definitely not a Michelin star experience.
Avoid. I recommend you try the excellent O Paparico instead. Perfection!
