“Small hotel, with great view and nice design! Very relaxing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

We spent 2 nights in this Hotel, during our summer vacations. It's a 3 stars hotel, but in our opinion it deserves the 4 stars. It's a new hotel with a nice design and with all the conditions to make guests feel relaxed and comfy.
Almost the rooms have balcony or terrace, with view for the Douro Valley. The standart room isn't very large, but it's nice, confortable and very clean. The bathroom has very good materials (Porcelanosa brand) and the shower is modern, with a lot of water jets massage. Very very nice!!
The breakfast is good and with fresh products. The breakfast lady is always replacing the food on the breakfast, even though when the breakfast end timing was comming.
The hotel has a infinity swimming pool, with an awesome view for the Douro Valley, and with a nice area where guests can relax and sunbathing.
All the staff is VERY NICE and prestative! Congratulations!!
This hotel has a sad story behind. The owner, a young entrepreneur from Pinhão died last June in a tragic car accident. This hotel was his dream. And the staff is doing his best to keep it alive!
This hotel definitly deserve a visit and a stay!

Room Tip: Make sure you book a room with view.

This hotel opened earlier this year. Although 3 star currently. I'm sure after a successful first season the hotel will be a 4 star. It is modern and has a luxurious feel. Natural wood and slate decor. Pool has a lovely setting and great view of the Douro hills and river.
It's a steep hill down to Pinhao town. This is the one of the two reasons it doesn't get a 5 review. If you want to eat other than the hotel. it is a steep walk down and back up, or drive. Plus the hotel has no info about local visits to Quintas or trips.
This is hotel has genuine, helpful staff. We had a fabulous relaxing stay after the crazy fun in Porto. The restaurant was enjoyable. The has a sister in town which is less expensive than the hotel, however the menu is more or less the same. It really is great place to chill out.

This is a great hotel for a relaxing holiday or weekend. The rooms are new as the hotel just opened last April/2013, well decorated, nice balcony with table and chairs, minibar. Bathrobes, etc. this has all the conditions to be a 4 star. Maybe it was an option to make it 3 stars. The pool is most time empty which makes it quiet and relaxing. The staff is very attentive.
The lunch snacks are very good, expect fair € 20 for 2 sandwich and 2 soft drinks. The LBV Restaurant down in Pinhao center belongs to the same owner, good service and food.
They offer a Porto wine bottle for each stay and a complimentary bottle of water. The jacuzzi is available at € 25 per couple for an hour, I think no one is using it as it's too expensive in my opinion.
The restaurant has a very attractive menu but prices should be little cheaper to discourage guest to do downtown for a cheaper meal. Maybe a set menu at € 22 would be successful.
When entering the car park I suggest going in from the right side as the ramp is very steep. When going out, use the left side and then turn around on the main road if necessary. Otherwise low height vehicles will touch the floor.
Overall I recommend this hotel and I will return in the future. Make sure to ask a room with river view and they have 2/3 rooms not river front.
The young owner 33 year old just dyed last month, I really hope they will manage to keep the great job done so far!
Good luck!

We escaped from a cool and gloomy Porto to Pinhao and the LBV House. What an amazing place! The hotel has only been open for a few months so everything sparkles, including the staff who couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The room was a good size and the AC was very effective. Stunning views across the Douro valley. Lovely breakfasts. Pool area has great views too, with showers on hand. Taxis into Pinhao take less than 5 mins, cost 5 euro and are readily available.

Definitely worth a stay if in Pinhao. Special place and a terrific restaurant. Rooms are clean, if small, and staff are excellent. Nice to be welcomed with a bottle of port in our room. The views from the balcony are spectacular.

A beautiful property nestled above Pinhao overlooking the Douro and neighboring vineyards. The views are spectacular. The hotel staff are kind, gracious, and welcoming. The room, a double, with a terrace, was adequate but tight. The highs: view, style, welcoming attitude. The lows: Internet, restaurant ( not open for dinner, and the associated LBV 79 restaurant in Pinhao must be avoided). More than anything, we enjoyed our stay. It's a lovely hotel.

Nicely located Hotel, large and clean rooms with a small private terrace, very (very!) friendly staff that made us feel extremely welcome and was very nice to our little boy (1.5 yrs old) that wasn't always the easiest to handle. It's got three stars, but I'm not sure why to be honest.. have been in 4 and 5 star hotels that had a lower grade of service.

Room Tip: Choose a room with the Douro view, you'll love the terrace, has evening sun.
