“No longer Free”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2010

We went there expecting to just go on the ship and skip Nauticus for another time but one of the greeters told us that as of a week and a half prior to our visit, that had changed. You have to buy a Nauticus ticket to see the ship. I read in other reviews that it was free and I just wanted to update that.

“An Inspirational Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2008

Definitely the highlight of our day in Norfolk. We happened to be in town over Labor Day weekend while a reunion was taking place on the ship of former naval officers and sailors. A gentleman in his early 90's was there who was on the first commissioning of the USS Wisconsin. I could have spent hours listening to him. He was a tour guide unto itself.

“Amazing - a must see!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2008

The USS Wisconsin is a retired Naval Battleship that is docked in the heart of Norfolk. The cost of admission is free and it is attached to the Nauticus museum. The ship has been in several battles including WWII. It is amazing to walk around and tour the ship. The sheer size of it is astounding. Each of the links in the anchor chain weigh 120 pounds! The deck is made of solid teak and is beautiful and immaculate - it looks like it was just laid yesterday. I highly recommend touring the Wisconsin and also the attached museum! One could easily spend a day in there...

“Must See!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2008

We visited with 12-year old and a 14-year old. Both were very interested...and the price (free) was great!
Be sure to get there in time...the on-deck tours are cleared out by 5pm, but you can walk around the battleship on the deck if you arrive after the tours have ended.

“Very Neat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2007

The USS Wisconsin is located in downtown Norfolk. It is very neat to be able to walk around on a real battleship. Only the outside decks are open, but you can look through some of the windows to see some of the rooms. It can take 30 minutes up to an hour to follow the marked path for the tour around the decks.

In the building next to the ship is also a Naval Musuem with several exhibits. There is also a nice gift shop. Both the Naval Musuem and the USS Wisconsin are free.
