As someone who spends half their life on the road, the fitness center is always a major point for me. Medium to smallish sized, but very clean and pretty nicely equipped. Free weight area with up to 50 lb dumb bells, with 2 benches. Several treadmills, but why would you run inside with the hotel right on the river? Great jog just outside the hotel along the water and through the downtown area with lots of people out and about. Hotel restaurant has big windows overlooking the ship yard across the river. My other big consideration with with hotels is their breakfast. Very good here. (Relatively) cheap buffet, at $14 for the full buffet which includes omlettes made to order and Belgian Waffles. Waffles are made fresh, not just sitting in a warmer. Also, they are ordered through the server, so you don't have to stand around waiting for your food at the food station. I got both, and they were excellent. More upscale hotels would charge $20 plus for this type of buffet..... Also, late night dinner menu till 1 a.m. if you are a late night arrival. Though the outside of hotel is showing age, the inside is very nice, clean, and staff is friendly.
