We found this restaurant after asking the receptionist at the Pestana Vila Sol Hotel for a recommendation. The restaurant is situated in a quiet back street and is could be difficult to find without local knowledge. The interior is bright, definitely not luxurious but functional. The place is run by a family which is headed by Gracas. The menu is limited but fantastic based on dishes from the north of the country. We visited twice and the first time had the lamb and the second time black pork. Both were delicious. There were two starters to choose from, grilled cheese or freshly carved palma ham. Both were great. We tried the house wine, red and white and they offered fantastic value at 10 euros for a litre carafe. We will definitely go back again. Our bill for 4 came to 124 Euros. This included 2 litres of wine.
