Very recommendable Hotel!
We just returned from a 2 weeks stay at Hotel Gardenia in Lido de Jesolo.
We choose the Hotel based on its location and good reviews, next to the very attractive room rate and being able to take our dog along.
If you keep in mind this is a 3 star, family run, Hotel, you will be purely amazed about the high standard of service. Due to the fact that we had our dog with us, one of the first things Simone, the Hotel Manager, enquired about was, how we will make the arrangements for room cleaning. In fact, we could leave our room to walk our dog, any time it pleased us, in the morning, pass by reception, and the room would be cleaned right away. We found this very helpful and it showed that the Hotel went out of its way to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
As we travelled by our own car, Simone took care of parking it on the Hotel parking (which is very small but sufficient for all cars to get in).
Another plus of this hotel is the friendliness of the whole stuff. The group of staff is very pleasant, polite, caring for you and always smiling. Thank you Mattheo, Davide and the girls in the restaurant and at reception.
Although English is not so widely spoken. They almost all speak fluent German. The majority of guest during our stay, were mainly Italian, next to Austrians and a small group from other countries, which makes you feel you are really in Italy. We were the only ones visiting from The Netherlands.
If you are looking for real authentic Italian food, than Hotel Gardenia is the place you will enjoy. There is no buffet where everybody messes around with the food, but an excellent 4 course dinner service. We loved this. The good thing is that you can choose amongst 4 choices for each course in the morning and next to plenty of pasta you get salads, soups, fish, seafood and the occasional meat. You will have enough of food to walk off the long shopping street of Lido de Jesolo. The place is perfect for shopping, shop Made in Italy clothing and shoes (what a delight), plenty of cafes and bars and restaurants. On the entertainment side we could not really find a buzzing place that would have been right for us, most clubs or bars with music are for the age group of 18-28.
A huge advantage of the Gardenia Hotel that we appreciated a lot was the reserved beach chair at the very clean beach, just 200 m from the Hotel. No need to rush and look for a beach chair but just take it easy and arrive at the beach with a beach lounger waiting for you. Perfect!
Last but not least the superior deluxe room we booked was to our expectations. It looks slightly bigger in some of the pictures but the design, colors and comfort of the furnitures including the bed was very very good. We had a view on the sea and enjoyed the rain shower next to the little fridge, which we used a lot.
We want to thank Hotel Gardenia for a lovely and unforgettable stay and will recommend it to others.
One more thing, there is a boat leaving right from the beach that brings you to Venice in 1,5 hrs excellent boat ride, we really enjoyed this. The public main bus station is very close by and from there you can get connections to other cities, trains and take buses that get you around to the Faro and other parts of the city.
Who knows maybe one day we will be back. Would love to.
When the Hotel is really full and there are a lot of children, it can become pretty loud in the restaurants, we suggest to make use of the tables in front of the Hotel, there are quite a few and that would already make a big difference.
Internet connection is good, however Try to improve the internet connection stability as guest are logged out constantly.
We were amazed though how little support the Italians have for their world cup football team during the first round, we would have loved to join into the crowd of supporters.
