We were a party of three, two of us staying in one room and the third of our party in another single room. We were not greeted on arrival but ushered rather rudely to the hotel desk by the daughter who seemed to view all of us with distaste, being sharp and abrupt. The hotel location was great and very handy for all attractions - Lido is excellent as a resort. The hotel itself seemed clean and sparkling upon first impressions, however when we eventually got a key to our rooms and we made our own way to them, we noticed that they were aired and fresh, however, there was a copious amount of sand and a previous occupant's hair all over the bedroom and bathroom areas in both rooms. The toilet was dirty, splashed with and pitted by urine, and we went out to a local supermarket to buy some disinfectant and cleaned it ourselves. The third of our party, a lady, who was in the single room by herself complained to management about this and also about the shutter in her own room which was broken. They eventually repaired this after 2 full days in the resort!! There is a notice in every room that shutters were to be closed down and secure if you left the room and at nights, as the balcony doors were not lockable. So for three nights our lady relative had no security whatsoever in a room that was adjacent to the car park at the side of the hotel, and she was obviously left without any safety whatsoever!!! We are quite surprised that she escaped the experience with the disappearance of just one pair of expensive designer sunglasses as cleaners and workmen were coming and going on an everyday basis throughout our stay, without seeming to do anything but look and discuss the work at hand!!
The next day of our one-week stay we were greeted warmly by a very nice, friendly blonde lady who seemed to have a better understanding of our needs and requests. The rest of the family were warm and friendly, making the experience a more pleasant one. However, we sat in the hotel foyer for a brief moment before venturing forth only to be astounded by the fact that the cleaning ladies had cleaned the foyer tyled floor with the same cloth-wringing it out with her bare hands, before applying it to the tabletops where outside customers ate their meals without tablecloth!!!!!
The food was excellent! Incredible service with an Italian warmth. Breakfast was massive! Quality food-lots of Pasta but variety mixed in. You could not fault the food or the service.
We enjoyed the rest of our stay at this hotel, but did not unpack our suitcase - the cupboards were dirty and smelly and full of something we were not sure of. We paid for airconditioning in our room, but the third party did not - when entering each other's room there still did not seem much of a difference - so our tip is do not pay for the airconditioning, there's no point!
Our recommendation is to stay in Italy. To stay in Lido di Jesolo. But find a cleaner hotel?
