“Unwelcome atmosphere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

I'm quite disappointed with the service we received hete. We booked two rooms with Hotel Germania a few weeks before we travelled. After a horrible thunderstorm that we drove through to get there, me and my family were expecting a welcome atmosphere. We didn't get that.

Firstly, there was no obvious parking so my boyfriend sat in the car outside so we could be told where the car park was. I asked the manager and she said yes they have a car park but didnt tell us where. Another manager got grumpy about the car being there for 5 minutes. yet no one told us where to park! So my boyfriend had to drive the car further down the road to a car park that belonged to another hotel until we were told where it was!

In the meantime... it seemed like they couldn't find our hotel room bookings which as i said, we'd made weeks before we got there and emailed the day before to confirm all was okay. SO this took some time to sort out.

The managers attitude at dealing with our queries and reservation was pitiful. She didn't smile once (during our whole stay) and no effort was made to make us feel welcome. I felt uncomfortable for the entirety of our stay.

The good points were the breakfast.... plentiful, fresh and tasty. Great waiting staff. Lovely beaming housekeepers in the morning, always going out of their way to say hello and a nice clean room... but without the hospitality and homeloness a hotel should provide... it was a disappointing visit.

Also... after we finally got to find out where the car park is... it was just a shoddy gravel field with overgrown plants. The plants were the thorny kind that clung to your clothing and were painful t o remove. I hated stepping foot into that car park. I would get bitten and stung by bugs and plants galore.

Not on the beach but close enough and with its own beach section with assigned spaces ( no extra cost). The rooms are small, a bit faded and basic but clean and well kept. Breakfast is rather good. The staff are super helpful and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. You can borrow bikes to get around at no extra cost.

The hotel is excellent value for money, cozy, quite, clean and with excellent location. The breakfast was better than what we had in four star hotels, with nice mix of salty and sweet choice.
the staff is very friendly and helping. i was so happy with my pillow that i even was allowed to buy it it at a very fair price.

on my way back i tried to book a room but it was full. i am definitely coming back to the same hotel when i am back to jesolo.

thank you!

This was our last stop after a long vacation in Europe. We wanted to find a place on the beach near Venice and we were happy to have found Hotel Germania. The front desk staff were very helpful and professional.

The breakfast was amazing and it was a well stocked buffet style. Even with a busy morning rush of customers, we were always able to find lots to eat. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The best part of the deal was the hotel had a private beach section and with just a short walk, we had the luxury of lounges with beach umbrellas on an amazing sand beach. Even though it was considered early in the season, we had several hot days and we went swimming and lay next to the ocean.

It was an interesting trip to the city of Venice and it was great to be able to leave the hustle and bustle in the city to return to our hotel near the beach. The trip to Venice is by bus and by boat. The bus ride is about 40 minutes and then the ferry is about 20 minutes. The local bus stops right at the front door of the hotel. This is a great way to visit Venice.

I noticed some negative reviews of the hotel but I think these are misdirected because I travel a lot and I can vouch for the quality of the Germania Hotel.

We have been to Venice now 8 times. We normally stay in the city or on Murano Island but this time we wanted a change as the weather is warmer than what we have experienced before so we thought the beach would be nice. Well, what a great find we made with Hotel Germania. This hotel is in the beautiful beach town of di Jesolo very near Venice in the lagoon. What a great place with lots of shops, restaurants and an amazing long, safe, shallow and clean beach. The hotel was very good and so clean with a really helpful and professional staff. The owner Tanya and her father Georgio keep the hotel running very efficiently and they treat you like old friends or family. The rooms are very good and the apartments are amazing. This is still considered in May as offseason so the price was very fair. This included breakfast was one of the very best we have ever had with cheese, meats, breads, cakes, boiled eggs, cappuccino
and the buffet was in a warm, colourful and inviditing breakfast room. The staff made our stay very easy with so much help to get around and enjoy ourselves. They also had access to their own private part of the beach and that included sun umbrellas, table, lounge and chair. The trip to Venice was great because we were on the beach for part of the day then we took a bus at the front door of the hotel to the bus station where we got a bus to the port and then got a boat to Venice. It was wonderful trip by boat and we spend the rest of the day in Venice then travelled back to our quiet, comfy hotel by the sea later that evening. This is how we will stay in Venice from now on when as it just makes more sense for us all around. As always we try to remind people that times are hard these days in Europe so tip when you can as it is appreciated. We learned that the owners of this hotel actually offer great deals so that they can keep their staff employed year round instead of closing down and taking a holiday and that impressed us.

Room Tip: The hotel rooms are great but we suggest paying more and moving to an apartment if you are staying f...

We got a great deal on a website which included breakfast making the value to us even more. The breakfast was excellent with all the usual buffet options but also the ability to boil eggs and cook toast.
The reception staff were excellent and offered us a room in a building across the road from the main building as they already had a school party in and they thought it would be quitter for us which turned out to be true.
The room was well presented and clean and of a good size as was the toilet/shower which had plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure in the shower.
The internet connection in our room was excellent.
It is hard to find any fault with our stay at this hotel.

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights over a respectable agency which organized the tour of the Laguna. The hotel's only plus is the proximity to the seaside and Venice.
As we got to the hotel, the rooms were dirty and dusty and there was no hot water in the shower on our second night. The toilet tank didn't work, so I personally had to repair it in order to flush the toilet, because the staff wasn't able to communicate in English. The worst thing however was the breakfast. When we (the group) arrived to the restaurant, we were told by our tour guide that we were allowed to take only 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of cheese per person (!!!). During the entire breakfast we were under heavy surveillance by the grumpy waitor who even had the nerve to complain to one lady who took a crumpet and put it in her bag. At the same time, behind a wall there was regular buffet breakfast for other guests who were allowed to eat whatever they wanted (cereals, eggs etc.). We felt extremely humiliated and degraded. I'm never going there again.
