I have just returned from the Eden Hotel, Lido De Jesolo, and although we had a fantastic holiday the Hotel did not live up to the brochure or website write up.
The Eden Hotel was recently renovated and went for a minimilist look, in fact it is not minimilist it is just bland and unwelcoming. The location of the hotel is excellent in the centre of things, just 2 mins walk to the beautiful beach where the private section with the sunbeds was wonderful. It is near bus stops and opposite the "Tabacchi" where you can get tickets to the bus and ferry for Venice if you don't want to go on a tour.

The hotel is very clean, clean towels daily, sheet change every second day, and the staff in the Restaurant and cleaning staff are very friendly. The hotel rooms are very small in Italy but the size is fairly good in the Eden. This is where the positives end. The Restaurant was dreadful. It was like a staff canteen and the food was awful. Salad bar had a very poor selection, pasta was reheated, and you were only allowed one piece of Lasagne, ( which turned out to be a blessing in the end) The manager/owner of the hotel paced up and down behind the buffet counter, and it was very intimidating and uncomfortable. The bread rolls at breakfast were left out all day and used again at dinner and if not used up were still there the next morning. There was no fresh fruit availabe for breakfast and fresh orange juice had to paid for €3 per glass. If the dessert (and there was only one) was good it was eaten immediately and if you didn't get any, there was no alternative. If it was not eaten it was put out again at breakfast. In general a very poor selection and poor quality for a 3 star hotel.

Although the bedrooms were an adequate size, they were poorly equiped, no chair to sit on, the vanity mirror was nearer the ceiling than the vanity unit, no welcome pack to let you know opening times of restaurant, room service etc. No tea coffee making facilities, no fridge or mini bar, no drawers, and no terrace or balcony on one side of the hotel. Infact we changed our room and had a fab view of the car park and kitchens!!

The reception is cold and unwelcoming and the bar is never open, if you wanted a drink from the bar, you had to ask the receptionist if she was not too busy to get you a drink.


Lido De Jesolo is a fantasic place to go on holidays but would recommend that you stay in the Cambridge or Principe Palace. We tried to move to either of these during our two week stay but unfortunately could not. There are superb restaurants in the resort where you can try fantastic Italian food and wine at it's best.

My husband and I travel three/four times a year and have stayed in hotels all over europe and this is the poorest standards we have ever come accross. It does not even merit two stars, and it is supposed to be three star. But we will definitely go back to this resort again.

we stayed at the eden hotel august 2008 & it was a fantastic hotel. we got a lovely room with a balcony that looked out over piazza mazinni, we were 2 minutes walk from the beach & the weather was great.

before i went i had never heard of lido di jesolo, but i can highly recommend it to anyone, it was a 2 hr flight from dublin. the food was great every day we were half board & we just ate a roll or 2 during the day to keep us going until dinner. we were only 45mins from venice & wow what a city i absolutely loved it, we also took the trip to the dolomite mountains & they were unbelievable.

i have to say we really enjoyed this holiday, it was the best ever. i would love to go back. the only down side is the airport transfers are a bit long & there were traffic delays coming & going but we got to see a lot of the country that way if you're willing to sit on a bus. it was also expensive for clothes & souveniers. but despite all that i would defiantely go back to the eden hotel & i have to say Graziella looked after us very well in the restaurant every night. well worth a visit

We stayed at hotel Eden with company of 6 young people. We did not count with luxury, but this was horrible. Hotel was good looking just from outside. Rooms vere tiny- we were 3 in 2-beds room with just one suitcase for 3 people. Bathroom had just poor shower with rot and it looked dirty on the first sight. Food in restaurand ( we had halfboard)- but I wouldn' t really name it restaurant but better is school- cantine served breakfast and dinners just for one hour, every day the same food offer. Additionally, we were not allowed to take some kinds of food ( e.g. mozzarella with tomato)- we were told that this is just for german guest??? Excuse me.... And I forgot to mention that manager of hotel really did not look or either act like manager. Strange place, never again.
