“Return visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

We just enjoyed our 2nd stay at Villa Bordoni. The location, ambiance and services heighten the Tuscan experience. The proprietors and staff exude grace and professionalism making one's stay very personal. And the cooking class on property should not be missed. We shall return again.

This villa is exquisite and we will definately return for a longer stay. Our room was spacious and well appointed. We had a bonus loft with a daybed, desk and two chairs. A great place for an afternoon of reading, relaxing and napping. The views, gardens, grounds and pool were wonderful. We stayed at five hotels while in Italy and the staff at this one treated us well. We went for a long walk in the morning and had dinner in the diningroom; by far the best meal on our trip. The villa is just up the hill from the town of Greve which is also charming. We had no trouble finding the hotel as we used the directions on the website rather than our GPS!!

This place is top notch. Breathtaking scenery, excellent rooms and outstanding food at restaurant. I can't say anything negative than we should have stayed longer than 2 nights!
You will be relaxed and very well taken care of!

Surfing around looking for the ideal place to make our stay in Tuscany memorable was not easy... There is way too much information online, and who should we really trust? I, being a gal, went with my instinct of course! And thank God for that!
Villa Bordoni went far and beyond what we hoped and wished for. We stayed as a couple in their garden room (Limonaia), where we had our very own outdoor living room and private garden - what a treat! As it turned out, we were there during a MAJOR heat wave (by any standards!), and being hot and lazy used the room, grounds and pool more than we had planned to. You know how it is, sometimes, when you feel right at home and comfortable, why move? Well this was even better than home, for we never had to move much for anything - the in-house restaurant provided for us day and night (although we did go out a couple of evenings, following recommendations from the staff) and the bar kept the drinks coming straight to our terrace whenever we needed them.
Overall, the ambience at this little villa is one of absolute bliss and tranquility - a place to be spoiled in, and to breathe a little of that Tuscany that we dream of and imagine in our far away homes across the Atlantic. We stayed for 7 nights, and were able to enjoy every aspect of it - our special room, the grounds and pool, the restaurant and the people - what can I say more, all move in unison to make this the oasis that it is...
The only flaw of our stay? We were a little upset that we had to leave...

Room Tip: We visited several rooms - each was different and all were special...

Oh my gosh this place is off the hook and amazing! We arrived late in the eveing to Villa Bordoni. Just getting here was an awesome experience! We had to go down tiny country roads some of it unpaved which was so cool as their countryside is amazing! We saw a deer running happily along it's merry way. This Villa is AMAZING hands down the best in the region. The owner David and his wife love this place with all of their hearts and it shows big time! Our room was so country cute and cozy and the bathrooms are perfect! Nice and big and airy!

The restaurant at this Villa is out of this world! When in Tuscany you are there to relax and getting into town is quite a trek at night so everyone dines at their own villas. Let me tell you I was so impressed with the whole dining experience. We received amazing service from Hugo so please tell him Chad and Miriam say Hi when you are there! David the owner was so warm and friendly and really knows a thing or 2 about 5 star service. This Villa is rated 4 stars but in my eyes it is a 5 star and I stay in 5 star hotels around the globe so I am not quite sure why they are rated so low. Nonetheless in the morning our breakfast buffet was just as good as our dinner experience. We dined outside in their lovely manicured gardens overlooking the rolling hills of Chianti grapes and olives. This place really is magical and special you have to be here to understand what I am saying and you will LOVE it! Thank you David for being such a wonderful person and having such an amazing staff of people. OH By the way this villa opened about 5 years ago and the same staff is still here! That says alot about the ownership as hotels and villas are notorious for high turnover. I could not believe it! I am definitely coming back here in the future and so should YOU!

All my best from Malibu Team Bordoni!

Room Tip: They have a great 2 bedroom family suite so if traveling with your kids make sure and grab it! You...

Our return to Villa Bordoni was just perfect. Catherine and David are so accommodating and their staff are a Tuscan treasure. Colin their chef is par excellence - no need to go else where to eat a fantastic Tuscan meal. We will return next year.

As a rule we are not travellers who return to the same place twice, however this was our third visit to Villa Bordoni, which speaks for itself. The villa has been beautifully restored and there is something about staying here that makes you feel instantly relaxed - the grounds are beautiful and the smell of the lavender and other shrubs is incredible. The feel is very laid back, relaxing, and unpretentious. Our stay this time was just as perfect as our other visits - we stayed in the Garden room, which is outside of the villa and has its own private patio, complete with comfy chairs - perfect for sitting outside reading with a drink in hand.

Having had a busy two weeks sightseeing on the rest of our holiday we planned to spend our time at Villa Bordoni just relaxing, which we managed to achieve - sunbathing and reading by the pool, enjoying watching the sun set in the gardens with a pre-dinner drink, and then two superb dinners in the restaurant (the restaurant has to be one of the hotel's biggest selling points, the food was amazing). Even the more overcast weather on a couple of the days didn't dampen our mood.

Each and every one of Villa Bordoni's staff are amazing at what they do, ensuring that you have the best stay possible. On our arrival we were welcomed as returning guests, despite my having made our booking under a different name - very impressive attention to detail and memory.

If there was a Trevi fountain at Villa Bordoni where you could toss in a coin to ensure you returned I'd be filling it to the brim!
