5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

How wonderful to return to the superb Gallo Nero Restaurant after a gap of seven years and to find nothing had changed:same wonderful Family Costa, same superb food and extensive menu, same impeccable service.A real delight! We have been visiting this beautiful area of Tuscany for almost eighteen years and during every holiday we eat as often as possible at Gallo Nero. This September we ate on three evenings of our week-long stay and were made so welcome We enjoyed superb food cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Our delicious meals were served by excellent, charming and attentive waiting staff.Thankyou so much Francesco and Marinela! We enjoyed tasty chicken, flavoursome Sea bass and on our final evening...the speciality of Gallo Nero;their wonderful fillet steak for my husband and fantastic Sliced Beef in Chianti wine for myself.A perfect ending to our perfect week in much-loved Tuscany. This restaurant is worthy of the excellent reviews received. We wish the wonderful family continued success.Thankyou for our happy memories!

“Best in the piazza”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

I am not a great fan of dining in Greve's famous old piazza - sure, it is as picturesque as it gets - but because of the sheer volume of tourists the food is usually good but not exceptional and the service appalling (slow food with a real emphasis on slow). This restaurant at the entrance to the square is one of the rare exceptions - family- owned and recently revamped into a sophisticated grill restaurant, with an attractive decor .... It is both professionally managed and its specialties - grilled meats - are truly excellent. The staff are courteous and informed and the traditional Tuscan fare is professionally served and presented ....if you are looking for fine dining in the square - this is it!

“Best place in town - by far”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013 via mobile

My family and I treated ourselves to a wonderful meal on the Saturday of the wine Festival and we had a delicious and truly memorable meal. Two of us shared the florentine T-bone steak cooked medium to rare and it was sublime. My better half had a fillet steak which was the best thing she ate on a ten day holiday to Italy. We could not fault this place from friendly helpful staff to great ambience. HIGHLY recommended

“unforgettable...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

This place is simply awesome. We had the pumpkin ravioli with pecorino cheese and pears and steak in chianti wine. The only thing I wish I did differently was to share both yummy-ness with my friend. This place can make you into a glutton, no kidding! Be sure you had over the to try it!
