We have visited this place twice and enjoyed every time. The meals were fantastic, the service was great, very nice people. A bit pricey but worth every penny. Would definitely recommend this restaruant to everyone.

“Must Plan to Eat Here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

My husband and I visited Italy for the first time in April 2013. We happened upon this restaurant because of the wonderful aromas we encountered as we walked by (we were heading to another restaurant). We had to eat here and we are very glad we did. It was one of our most memorable dinners. My husband and I each had a "primi" pasta. The Bistecca alla Florentina pleased my husband in size and taste (he's extremely hard to please when in comes to steak). And the beef made with Chianti wine, raisins and nuts was wonderful. The hospitality and friendliest made this restaurant one we would return to again and again (of course, when in the area). My husband wanted to let the chef (Grandma Du) know the steak was delicious, and they asked him to go back and meet Grandma Du and he could thank her personally. Don't make a mistake and pass this eatery up. Stop in and have a wonderful meal!

“Definitely a number one!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

One of those rate times you go for a number one in the tripadvisor ranking, with all the expectations this induces, and still come out amazed. Nothing more to add, just excellent.

“Best food in the area!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

I have travelled and eaten my way around a lot of Italy over many years and have had some of the best food at Gallo Nero. The owners are absolutely lovely, the food....where to even start?! We had a pasta plate to start, it was beautiful hand rolled pasta with amazing layers of flavor. The first time I went to Gallo Nero I had amazing beef with fresh artichokes and asked if they could make it again and they happily obliged. The meat was so tender I barely needed a knife to cut it and the artichokes were beautiful. The wine...amazing, nothing short of what you'd expect for the region! We were there for lunch, twice now, and couldn't have had better service or food. I look forward to returning next time I'm in the area (we drove 2 hours just for this meal!)
