5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

Dear Bernardo!
Many thanks for your hospitality, warmth and care. It was unforgettable holiday at a beautiful villa. We enjoyed every moment of our stay and fell in love with Toscana with its fantastic landscapes, wonderful wine(especially from Nipozzano Frescobaldi winery) and Tuscan cuisine. Thank you also for the wonderful dinner arranged by Maria. Please pass our thanks to Osteria da Melo for a wonderful party. Hope to visit you again and have recommended your villa to our friends already

Dear Nicolai,
thanks, thanks, thanks! Your firiends, during this years, had always passed beutiful holidays beeing always so kind.
I will say to Melo... it's strange to find a sicilian fish restaurant in the florentines hills, and in this latest years a lot of new and good restaurant opened in our area, that's fine!!

I hope you to see you very soon

We travelled as a group of 10 (5 couples) and found La Favilletta just perfect. The location in the middle of the vineyards was beautiful with amazing views. Bernardo was very helpful - we had initial problems with the wifi which he resolved. The weather was a little cool, so we didn't spend as much time in the outdoor areas as we would have liked, but it is certainly well set up for summer holidays. Kitchen has almost new appliances and a good range of crockery and pots and pans. Bicycles are provided and we enjoyed riding around the countryside (even saw deer a couple of times). The train being close by was a benefit as we were able to park cars at the station and catch a train into Florence rather than driving. Would highly recommend.

Dear Miss Paula and Friends,
thanks a lot!
Yes, this may has been a little colder then the average temperature... now is a warm and sunny june. It's beutiful to take some trips with biyicles in the path surrounding the house with the opportunity to see faisans, rabbit, deer and many birds.

Come back when you have the opportunity :-)

We stayed at La Favilletta for 5 days this past May. We had six in our group and we all had a amazing stay. The property and location were beautiful and even better than we expected. We had plenty of room and all of the amenities that we could want. Bernardo was very helpful and pleasant. Once we got our bearings getting around was a breeze. We booked La Favilletta's private chef on our travel day from Rome and it was definitely the right choice. Maria was friendly and our meal was fantastic. The next time we travel to Florence we will definitely return to La Favilletta.

Enter Torri into your GPS. Pretty easy to find from town.

Dear Mike and Friends,
many thanks!
I'm happy you have a nice holiday with us and that you tried the dinner. The chef that cooperate with us is very kind, english mother tongue and, most of all, a very good cooker. She also organize cooking classes in her house that very close to La Favilletta and that's a real interesting experience too!

Un saluto dalla campagna toscana

After a few weeks of city-based travel we were looking for a rural holiday house and this place was perfect. La Favilletta is divided into three or four self-contained dwellings, each with its own outdoor area where you can set out your lunch or dinner and enjoy the views over the lovely valley. There were only two of us (mother and daughter), so the two-bedroom 'Il Portico' suited us perfectly. Both bedrooms were generous in size and had a lot of space to empty our packs and hang up our wrinkled clothes for the week; there is also a shared washing machine and drying racks we made good use of. We were in the change-over between seasons and on a few evenings we opted to turn on the central heating which made the whole house very cosy. (There is an extra charge if you choose to use the heating but it's metered so you can keep track of it.) Bernardo Dionisio, whose family owns La Favilletta, was an efficient and friendly young manager and our experience of renting Il Portico went well from start to finish. We also thought it was very economical compared to other places we stayed in in Italy.
What we really loved was the huge marble-topped kitchen/dining area where we spread out and cooked up a storm. The kitchen was very well-appointed with a lot of equipment you wouldn't usually expect in a holiday rental, and previous guests had left a range of seasonings and other things that made it a bit cheaper for us to get going (Australians - think coast house).
La Favilletta is in a hilltop location above the town of Pontasieve on the junction of the Sieve and Arno Rivers, and it is a good base to get into Florence for sightseeing. From Pontasieve station it is a short train trip to the central station of Florence, 20 km away, and if you start early enough in the morning you can park your car in free municipal parking near the train station. (NB If you drive your car into Florence you may face a fine, as other Tripadviser reviewers have recently reported in reviews of car hire in Italy - check it out if you want to drive in.) La Favilletta includes the use of bicycles and bike locks, so don't neglect the option of walks and rides in the surrounding countryside.

Dear miss Catherine,
many, many thanks for your nice words about our apartment.

Actually the holiday house is divided into 3 self catering apartments: La Favilla (7 beds + an extra bed), Il Portico, the one you rented (4 beds) and Il Fienile taht is an apartment for 2 people.
Effectively we try to provide our guests with well equipped kitchens so that they can feel, as far as possible, at home.
I'm really happy you spend a beutiful week with your daughter and i hope you will return to visit other attractions of our beutiful region.

Best wishes

This villa is even much more wonderful then on the photos I found on the website. Very peaceful, quiet place with amazing views, located in the middle of vineyards.....just like in heaven!
The villa in very well equipped, you can always count on support of the owner Bernardo. He is very helpful and patient person who do his best to make your holiday time as much comfortable as it's possible!
We spend there two weeks (2 adults and 5 years old child) and all of us were very happy of this kind of vacations.
There is a simple connection with most of wonderful cities which are good to see (Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Montepulciano, San Gimignano, Chianti road...) and I really recommend to go there and then come back and relax in La Favilleta.....
That's nothing alse you need to be happy:-)))))
PS. Hugs and all the best to our Belgian friends we share our time with in La Favilletta!
Best regards
Mariola, Michal and Bartek from Poland

Wonderful setting amidst Tuscan hills, lovely house, great views, secluded but close to amenities and cultural centres. Kitchen could do with some modernising, but overall well worth the effort and would not hesitate to recomend.

We really enjoyed our stay here, we had the small apartment at the front with a private terrace so could site and enjoyed our meals without being overlooked but a 180 degree view. The kitchen is a bit small but the main room is lovely and looks out over the same view as the terrace.

Bernado the owner was very friendly and spoke good English, but did surprise up by asking for a damage deposit of 200 euro's when we arrived.

The BBQ is behind the other apartment which was a bit of a shame, it would have been nice to have been able to cook on our own terrace.

The pool is outside the window by the bed, so could be a problem if a noisy group use it late or early, but it wasn't a problem while we were there.

WiFi was available via a router in the apartment so excellent wireless connection but the ongoing connection was a bit slow (which is to be expected in a remote location).

The main downside was the state of the track leading up to the property, the shared road was OK (even past the building site) but the last 100m or so has a raised centre which our hire car kept grounding on even going very slow, maybe it was just our hire car, but anticipating going up and down it day wasn't relaxing. It needs to have the central section brought down to the level of the tracks.

Having said that we would happily return if we we visit the area again.

Dear Family,
thanks a lot for your nice words...we appreciate so much.

And thanks for your suggestion that allow us to do better...we will look after the last part of the road in a better way...probably the grass was a little bit too high this time around.

For what concern the deposit...it's written in our site that a damage deposit is due on the arrival and will be completely given back at the end of the stay in case of no damage...but i will specify better in the email too.

I hope you want to come back very soon!!!

Thanks again and regards

Bernardo Dionisio
