“Average hotel in lively area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012

Before checking into Hotel Gangi, we had tried several other accommodations but they had no vacancies. So we accepted Room 207, a handicapped room. The desk did not tell us it was a handicapped room, but it was okay--a bit cramped and would have been difficult for a wheel chair to negotiate the room. Shower did not drain fast enough for the volume of water, had to put towels across the threshold. Room was quiet despite it being in a lively New Town area. Buffet breakfast had a better selection than most hotels in this category (3-star--muesli, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cheese & meats in addition to the usual pastries. Although the coffee/cappacino machine did not work properly and the staff had to go to the market twice during breakfast to resupply the buffet. We paid 60 Euro so all-in-all it seemed a fair value.

Room Tip: 207 is cramped and designed for handicapped

“dingy hotel with indifferent staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2011

this hotel was eay to find on a main street and we could park in fromt. but the inside was dingy and dark and the rooms noisy. worst sleep ever. they advertised wifi but it only came on in the middle of the night. they seemed indifferent to this. i would not go back and regret i stayed there. the room was clean as was the bathroom. the breakfast was sparse.

“not recomended”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2011

This type of hotel is not my tastes. Its small, so small. We booked a room for four but when we arrived they told us we do not have a room for four because we have some problems in it, so they gave us two. We had nothing to do, just accept them, but we ruined our holiday there, i had to sleep with our daughter in one room and my husband with our son in another room. The other room had no window, rather, there was one tiny closed window in the upper part of the room. There was no air condition. It was just hot with no windows and bad smell coming from the bathroom. The shower cubic was broken, it couldn't close; no soap (we had to ask for it). I'm sorry to say that in my opinion, one of the rooms wasn't ready to have people in it. In the room I was in, there was no wardrobe. There was no internet connection, but could use the internet on the owner's computer, common for all residents. The breakfast was so poor, no bread, no butter just poor breakfast. I'm really sorry we chose that hotel, but we had no time to look for other hotels since we booked in four days time.

“Very Good Hotel - very helpful staff - good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2011

The title says it all. We were a group of 17 (extended family including my, brothers/sister spouses, children). Initially we had a slight problem with heating but the very efficient receptionist handled this very well and sorted it out extremely swiftly calling in an engineer and solving the matter in a few minutes. The hotel is centrally located. If you do choose Piazza Armerina do try out a restaurant just round the corner from Hotel Gangi called Da Nino. Brilliant food and atmosphere. The place was jam packed with locals, and that is already quite a good sign.

“LOVE HOTEL GANGI”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2009

I stayed in Piazza Armerina off and on for four weeks from October to November of 2009 Hotel Gangi is a great hotel and a great location!

I do prefer 4 or 5 star hotels, I was told Hotel Selene had more amenities, so I went there. HUGE MISTAKE!!! I RAN BACK TO HOTEL GANGI!

Hotel Villa Romano has a restaurant so I went there for lunch one day, in November there were flies everywhere, GROSS!!!

Stay at Hotel Gangi, they are so amazing!! The hotel is clean, if you need any assistance, they will work with you and offer help. I do not speak any Italian and at Hotel Gangi, they speak English and if they do not understand, I speak very fast, being a New Yorker, we would go on google translate.

Christian the owner and his staff Antonella works days, Alex and Danny work night-LOVE THEM!

STAY HERE. I checked out other hotels in the area, I prefer 4 or 5 star hotels. Hotel Paradiso is the same owner as hotel Selene and not in town. Do not bother. At HOTEL GANGI , they are very kind, respectful, helpful. I can not say enough about how great this hotel is!
