Stayed two nights here with a package walking/hiking tour group. A gorgeous hotel in a perfect location in Levanto. A short walk (if steep downhill) to the beach area, close to shops and restaurants (and ATMs). Comfortable rooms, quiet, just lots of stairs depending on where your room is.

Whilst well sign posted as you come into town by car,it could be quite a walk from the train station as VM is on a hill. If you come in at the top street entrance there is a lift , a must for luggage, otherwise there are quite steep stairs at the front and if you stay in the main home there are about 20 internal stairs to level 2. Our room was pleasantly simple and very clean, the bathroom was small and shower very small, but we had a lovely balcony that faced the ocean (about 600 meters away), where sitting with a bottle of red and some of the local cheeses, pesto ,salamis and fresh bread makes a great meal, there are some fabulous delicatessens in town.
 The road is directly below ,but the nights were quiet in November, love the church bells. We walked easily into town,leaving the car in the secure garage ( you don't need the car as Levanto can easily be walked or hire a bike for the disused rail tunnel ride to the west (wonderful fun) or catch the train for the Cinqua Terra (the walk was not open at all when we were there) .Breakfast was in the dining room downstairs, warm baked goods, yoghurt, ham, cheese, salami, cereals and any coffee you like. Lovely service from all the staff . Villa has a beautiful garden, wi fi was a bit temperamental upstairs but downstairs was fine. Good value for money.

We have just returned from a three-night stay at Villa Margherita and would thoroughly recommend it as a great place to stay. Our hosts were perfect. Very friendly, informative and couldn't be more helpful. Our room was very spacious and absolutely spotlessly clean. All the facilites were in excellent working order. The bed was very comfortable - we slept soundly every night. We had a nice garden access where we could sit out and enjoy the weather. The hotel is set in a nice, quiet part of Levanto but within easy walking distance to the beach and we had no difficulty getting anywhere we wanted to go. The train station is fairly close, too. For anyone looking for a good place to stay where you will be made to feel very welcome and comfortable this is the place to stay. Thank you for making our holiday so enjoyable.

We stayed at Villa Margherita for 2 nights and it was our base for exploring Cinque Terre. Very clean and beautifully maintained. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom apartments which had a private little courtyard. Unfortunately the weather shortened our day exploring Cinque Terre but we did enjoy a fantastic lunch in Riomaggiore one of the five villages that is located in the Cinque Terre area. The villa is a short walk from the centre and train station. Even though the place has a small elevator to help with luggage, it only goes half way down the slope. So if staying down in the apartments I would not recommend very large heavy suitcases. Will be returning in the summer and will be hoping to stay at Villa Margherita again. Recommend it highly.
