The restaurant ran by no other than mamma Monzo herself was one of the best Italian restaurants we've ever been to. We were fortunate to be sat outside on the patio enjoying the cool summer's breeze accompanied lulling melodramatic singing from a nearby fiesta marking the end of summer..
We were served immediately with an appetiser (prawn tar tar and fish salami) which was extremely fresh, tasty and thoughtfully displayed on the dish.. Along side with several other delicious dishes - fresh anchovies, sea urchin pasta.... We reached the climax of the dinner with a squid ink "Nero di seppia" ravioli stuffed with minced, slight sweet/herbed prawns lined with zucchini cream.
Monzo and crew clearly were on top of their cooking business and their passion for choosing the freshest food an whipping it into a gastronomic delight is remarkable.
Service was impeccable and waitresses were attentive and professional.. Also a wide selection of whiskey and other liqueurs for the die hard fans! This is an oasis in the desert, underrated, modest but surpassing expectations! Complimenti!
