This, our second visit to LaRomantica, a family run hotel and spa, even surpassed our last experience.
The dining room staff, especially Nello, Ciro and Giuseppe were extremely friendly and helpful, treating us like royalty. The majority of the staff were here last year and remembered us. It was helpful that most of the staff spoke English. We were one of few Americans the time we were there since a large portion of the guests were Italians or Germans who come back year after year.
We can understand why, the place is beautiful with a luxurious but comfortable vibe. The food matches any top New York restaurant with a daily menu that provides a tour around southern Italy and the staff will accommodate most requests. We signed up for half pension when we reserved the room, but after the first day changed it to full since we enjoyed the dining experience so much.
Our day started with yoga, breakfast and then a dip in one of the thirteen thermal pools. We would walk to one of the beaches in the charming town of Sant'Angelo but be sure to walk back up for the delicious lunch. Nap time and relaxation on the palm treed grounds around one of the pools. Dinner, yet again a fabulous meal. The most difficult part of this vacation, is having to leave after one week. Truly, the best Italian beach vacation ever! We are going back.
