“A wonderful holiday experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2010

We found this hotel by chance, the rooms were sparkling clean, comfortable and elegant, each with a wonderful sea view. The staff were polite and extremely friendly and catered to our every request. I would love to return one day.

Good, though expensive hotel. Very accomodating staff. Hated to have a super-mini outdated tv for the price we paid for the room. Location is excellent, with open views over the blue Med.

WOW! beautiful hotel, in the center of San Angelo! I highly recommend this hotel, from the impeccable rooms with view on the ocean to the breakfast area overlooking the sea! We had a very quiet room, we were able to sleep with the doors opened, even though our room was right over the street (pedestrian-only)! Might not be so quiet in july& august, but it was in june! we loved everyone there. Good breakfast and service! No bad comments!

This is a nice hotel in the tiny and secluded but accessible village-beach of Sant'Angelo in Ischia. Right on the water-front, a few paces from its small but nice, sandy, and if you are careful, a very family-friendly beach. Our room faced the water, it was brilliant in the morning and refreshingly calm and quiet by night. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Casa Celestono for 4 nights during our honeymoon before going on to Sorrento for a week. We absolutely loved it! The rooms were modern and spacious and we could choose between aircon or fan to keep it cool in the evening. The breakfasts were simple but very nice with absolutely fantastic coffee. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and it was also very good. San't Angelo was so nice, traffic is resticted from the main village so the only noise is the whiz of the golf karts ferrying supplies around and boats in the harbour. Lots of nice restaurants and a great buzz in the evening. Lovely beach just around the corner, 3 euros by water taxi each way and lined with very good seafood restaurants that are reasonably priced. Negombo is a great way to spend a day enjoying its thermal springs and nice beach. Overall, we'd go back to San't Angelo in a flash and will definitely stay at the Casa Celestino again.

This was our first visit to Ischia : we were so glad we chose Sant'Angelo which is idyllic, and Casa Celestino is perfectly located on the main path into the centre quite close to the main piazza & restaurants etc. The room & bathroom were both large and beautifully decorated in a simple Mediteranean way with colourful tiles. The terrace was large enough for 2 loungers & a table & chairs & had a fantastic view. (All rooms have terrace with sea view.) We only ate dinner in the restaurant once but what we had was good. We are hoping to return next year ! My only caveat was that the staff weren't terrifically friendly, apart from one nice evening waiter, & anyone who didn't speak Italian or German would struggle.

Well, we didn't know what to expect in Ischia. The Island was larger than we expected, with some busy roads and overall a pretty busy place. Some towns like Barrano and Forio are worth a visit but we were thrilled to be staying in Sant Angelo. Quaint and well located for relaxation and exploration. The hotel is on the main road entering the small town center, and it's not drop dead silent. If you want to be completely removed from any activity this may not be your spot. People do stroll down the avenue, no cars allowed - we just loved the location.

Guests at the Hotel San Michelle, where you have thermal pool priviledges are generally 60 plus, it's pindrop quiet and a nice hotel, but we were much happier at Celestino.

The hotel has a great design and feel. Visit their website to view, photo's are accurate. Rooms were spotless, simple, and comfortable - a little on the small side, larger suites are available if you need but the regular rooms were just fine for us for the 5 days. The view is just as it looks on their website, pretty damn nice - as is the rest of the place. Listening to the water roll on the shore is a treat. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Ask for a room on a higher floor if possible. Other bonus is you get sun in the late morning and all evening, sit on your patio and watch the water, the sunset, and peer over to see people strolling down the street. Many hotels in Sant Angelo will not get this sunset view because they're located on the other side of the hill.

For a daytrip, we went to Nagambo Park, we're not used to paying 20+ Euros each to visit a park but wow, what a place. Tons of thermal pools and an enviable location on a huge beach in a beatiful cove. Many places to explore, great for families. On another day, you'll want to take a good walk with some ups and downs, or else take a water taxi to Maronti beach. Pay 5 E for your beach lounge and enjoy, should be about 1/2 that if you show up atter say 1:30pm. The main store before the pricey tobachanist as you enter down into the town has fab fruits and food and drink and good prices.

We liked Ischia better than Capri, much more laid back and less bling. Although Capri is beautiful and a must see if you're in the hood. But plan to spend more time in Ischia unless you like feeling like you're in a tourist trap.

Bottom line, check out their website, if this is the kind of place you think you'd be comfortable in, don't hesitate, because it's a great place to stay.
