Perfectly adequate! Certainly not the nicest place I've stayed, but clean, decent rooms, right on the Marina, so location is PERFECT for walking around! There are much nicer places further from town, but for nice walks, day and night, this is the place! Spa is really cool.

Ischia comes to LIFE at night walking the shopping promenade just around the corner from Aragona. You'll wonder where everyone was during the day. You'll barely be able to walk without running into someone, especially during summer months.

We stayed three nights here, after taking a ferry from Naples! Great fun, with the wife, lovely food, BIG local smiles, and late night wine buzzes! Life at its best!

Ischia's hotels are NOT why you come here. Ischia's spas are world revered! They say its the waters!

Side note: European hotels DO NOT get their star ratings from QUALITY, but rather QUANTITY of services, so a three star hotel may be nicer than a five star. The Five star just has a spa, pool, etc. get it! Don't book based on star ratings. . . You'll be sorry most of the time!

Aragona is FOUR STAR because of its QUANTITY of services, but I think its four star QUALITY too :-)

I spent four nights at the Aragona for an amazing price. Fantastic value for great service, large rooms and shower. Only minutes from the ferry and surrounded by some fantastic restaurants. The staff very very helpful and provided lots of useful information and suggestion upon arrival.

Just returned from three nights at the Aragona Palace Hotel, which is very close to Ischia port, where the ferries from Napoli dock. The hotel deserves its 4 star rating because of the excellent facilities and the high quality rooms. We stayed in an bog standard room, which suited us very well. The bathroom is big enough and the shower was excellent. There is also plenty of room to hang clothes, a good television - although not sure if it offers English language channels without a fee. The king sized bed was firm and the sheets (and towels) were changed daily. There was some washing product, but it would have been nice to have had conditioner as well as shampoo. The terry bathrobe was great to use when taking a dip in the upstairs outdoor pool, which is kept at quite a warm temperature. There are also plenty of sun loungers on several different balconies. The air con was good too. We chose to have half board and were not disappointed. Before the two main courses we chose from a varied salad bar (although a lot of the salads were courgette (zucchini) based, which was fine because we love courgettes. There were always at least 3 choices of first course (including a pasta dish and a risotto), and then 3 or 4 main dishes (always including a fish choice). The dessert buffet was extensive, but a bit on the stodgy side (as was the Italian breakfast). We could have done with a bit more (and fresher) fruit, but some was always available. Service at dinner was excellent, despite the waiting staff having to deal with around 30 tables in the short dining period between 8 and 9.30 p.m. It would have been nice to be able to lounge around a bit longer after dinner, but we managed. There was plenty of time for a much-needed walk around town after the filling dinners. The Aragon Palace staff were excellent and helpful throughout. We didn't use the spa facilities - which are extensive - but we appreciated the friendly and well-informed reception staff, available all hours of the day and night. Only one criticism stands out: you are asked to pay for the wifi in the hotel. These days most 4 star hotels offer wifi as standard to their guests, and the Dim hotel group need to consider this issue. Given the comparatively high (per person) room prices listed on the hotel's price list, I would have thought they should manage to cover the cost of free wifi. I nevertheless recommend this hotel.

We always read the Tripadvisor reports before we book any Hotel, this one seemed to get mostly good reports, so we booked there for 5 days, and can now say they are certainly deserved. The Hotel is set not more than 30mtrs from the Harbour so you can get the noise of a few anchors dropping in the early hours of the morning, and on occasions a few revellers returning from the Harbour Bars, but not really a problem. Our Room was No: 203 set on the second floor with a balcony giving us a Harbour and Mountain view, maybe we wouldnt have chosen the same coloured tiles for our own Bathroom but other than that the shower was a very good one and the bed comfortable, the room and Hotel were always kept spotlessly clean. There are two lifts for guests but dont try to get more than 400kgs in at one time or the alarm gets excited. The Hotel food is good by any standard and Breakfasts can be either cereals, fruit, eggs, toast and Ham it doesnt have to be one of those truly delicious cakes that out number everything else, if that is not your scene. The roof top Pool was never that busy we thought the water was to put it mildly, slightly warm,, but what a delightful spot. The only problem they have is out of the Hotel front door turn right in around 150mtrs alongside the Harbour there are up to 8 top class Fish Restaurants all trying to get the Hotel customers, we did try one or two, superb ! The friendliness of all the staff and especially the Manageress who is a fountain of all knowledge, that is what makes the Aragona such a plesent place to stay, in fact the whole package was so good we wished we could have stayed longer. We could not say that about all the Hotels we have used. Ischia is a small Island but reasonably easy to reach, we flew into Naples took a Taxi to the Port, make sure you go to the Passenger one not the Car Ferry, which we did, the crossing took almost 90min, we did feel on occasions we could probably swim faster. The Hotel is about 300mtrs from docking off the Boat turn left, it is along an uneven flat stonned street but easy to wheel your cases, follow the waterside by the side of the moored Boats do not use the main road to walk as the driving tends to be more exciting than safe, otherwise it is 15 euros for a Taxi but always ask the price or you will pay more than you should. We also used the local bus during the day, they always seem to be permanently full they seat about 25 and usually stand 40 not a good expierience unless you are wishing to develop your unarmed combat skills. The final tip dont go in July or August if you can avoid it , by mid September and all of October the temperature is still 27c and plenty of room and space wherever you go and whatever you want to do. We now have lots of Photos and many happy memories to remind us we must go back there one day.

Room Tip: try for a Harbour facing room with a balcony little more expensive but worth the extra

We had a lovely few days in the Aragona Palace. The hotel is very well situated in the heart of Ischia with wonderful views of the excitements of the harbour.
Our room was immaculate with a lovely large bathroom and with excellent double glazing on the patio doors, we heard no noise from the harbour.
Thank you to beautiful Luisa who made us very welcome.
We shall return!

I'm not one to visit the same place twice usually; there are too many places in the world, but this was our second visit to the Aragona Palace and probably not our last. The charming Luiza and her team were as lovely as ever and I particularly like the personal touch of being shown to the room. We had a room overlooking the harbour and on the other side we had a terrace which felt like our own private space. I love the rooftop pool. The location is perfect - 5 minutes walk from the ferry and close to restaurants, shops and buses. The breakfast is plentiful too. A downside? Well, nowhere is perfect and perhaps the spa area is ready for an update. Otherwise a lovely experience.

My friends and I stayed the first week of August 2012 and had an excellent time. The best service I ever experienced in Italy with an extremely attentive manager/director and reception staff! The relation quality-price is indeed very good as the hotel regularly has first and/or last minute deals. The breakfast is substantial (not limited to just cakes) and can be enjoyed all day. There is a nice little spa centre located in the hotel itself offering a number of different treatments (payed seperatly), a hot mineral pool & Turkish bath (free access), a terrace with a small pool and a great view of the port. The very centric location - at the port close to the local bus station and ferries to the mainland as well as to other islands (Capri etc.), the main diner restaurants (great fish), and the almost pedestrian shopping area makes this a great place to stay. Importantly there was no noise to be registered inside the hotel. Did I forget to mentioned that it is also pet-friendly - my little dog stayed free of charge and was much welcomed by staff.
