“Great place to unwind”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014 via mobile

Visited for a week 27 June, first time to island won't be the last. Hotel is set in ideal location, much needed holiday to recoup and unwind. Room nice, spas and thermal pools excellent. Staff pleasant although English a little limited. Shame hotel doesn't make better use of the stunning terrace restaurant, could do with changing the lunch menu to something less expensive and extensive, it might then encourage guests to use it more often. Evening meals very nice and restaurant manager very efficient and most of his staff very professional. Would recommend to others.

we stayed on the weekend of the 10th May.I think they had just had a refurb as new umbrellas and signs were going up. Once the flora starts to grow this will be a heaven on earth. The multi Thermal pools of different sizes and temperature on various levels across the resort made the resort well planned and never looked busy. Loads of sunbeds of various designs.Indoor pool for a good swim. We were in the out buildings away from the main Hotel and were lucky enough to have a balcony overlooking the big pool. The evening meal was included in the price. Served with efficiency .We were serenated by 2 guitar players to give it the full Italian feel. We would have liked some English channels on the tv as sometimes nice to come in out of the sun and relax in the room. There was WIFI in reception area. Breakfast was buffet and wonderful cakes.

We were upgraded to Grazia after Thomas Cook over booked our hotel. Our room was grubby on arrival but hotel manager sorted immediately, and from then on it was immaculate as was the rest of the hotel. The towels are on the thin side but changed daily and not that bad. Lots of staff on hand.Food & restaurant service 1st class. We ate some really lovely food at the Grazia. The spa facilities are lovely. The hotel isn't in the ideal location if you like to go for a walk into the town. but the hotel bus service is great, takes you down to town and picks you up. We usually go as independent travelers so find our own way round but was surprised to see what little information there is for holiday makers on package tour. You can lose 3 days of your holiday trying to find out whats around. As there isnt really any rep service at Grazia here are a few tips. The next small town along ( towards Ischia ) is Casammiccola, its small but lovely. You can walk from Lacco and get the little red local bus back, you get off at Fango which is the little roundabout near the hotel. Also the hotel bus will take you to a lovely beach at San Montano. 10 mins by hotel bus, you can walk back to Lacco or the bus will pick you up. Forio is a lovely town, also a must is Sant Angelo..amazing. The buses are really easy to use and all go from the point you get dropped off at from Hotel bus. The destination is written on the bus, just get a day ticket from anywhere they sell papers. The drivers are great and will stop for you anywhere. Hotel Grazia is a lovely civilized, restful place, piano music in the evening by the pool. We are glad we stayed there instead of in Ischia town as planned.

Despite some terrible reviews of the hotel was verynicely surprised. Frontdesk staff are excellent and extremely helpful. Had the best maid to clean our room. The room was very clean and sizeable. The bathroom was lovely and modern. There are nine lovely clean pools. The only let down is the location, though this is mitigated by an excellent transfer service and the hotel has a bus stop outside with 3 buses to choose from. The views from the hotel are magnificent.

Just returned from a week's holiday at this hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good and terrace restaurant staff were pleasant and efficient. The maitre d' hotel was especially attentive to all guests. A welcome change. Pool was clean at all times as were all areas around the Hotel.
Views over the Bay were wonderful and the addition of the new spa pools, set out on different levels, created a good experience.
Temperatures were mid 30's for first week in September which made it a little too warm but the airconditioning in our room worked well and was not noisy.
A great service is the hotel mini bus which ferries guests to both the centre of Lacco Ameno and the nearby San Montano beach. Local public transport is however a different story and very hard to figure out also packed to the doors most of the time. Buying tickets was and still is a mystery, tickets are supposed to be available from "tabacchi" (tobacconists") but none had any tickets. Best check this out for yourselves, we tried and failed.
Make sure to visit the Aragonese Castle at Ischia Ponte. The views from the top are well worth the effort.

We were suppose to stay in this hotel for 10 days but left after 4 days!! the photographs are very deceiving especially of the swimming pool. The pool was dirty with algae on the tiles, could not believe it, finally after everyone complained they started to do something about the pool but it was still not right. The towels in our bathroom was so old and thread bare it was like drying yourself with sand paper, on one of the days they had cleaned the room and the bathroom had stained towels put in!!The breakfast was of a very poor standard and the Maitre d was unfriendly and arrogant. As soon as you were given menu's he would be there within 30 seconds to take your order making you hurry up, not like being on holiday at all. After having been to Italy for more then 30 years this was the worst place we had stayed in and as for Ischia it was nothing like it was 15 years ago, it is a dump. Worst of all are the taxi drivers they are a complete rip off!!! They would charge anything from 20 - 40 euros to travel 5 mins. Such a shame that this once lovely island has been ruined. We left for Sorrento and had a lovely holiday what was left of it.

The only good points about the hotel was the beautiful views and the most helpful member of staff was Edwardo who did his best to sort out our problems an absolute gentleman. He sorted out the problem with the air conditioning on our first night and problems with the Tv. The staff at reception were always polite.

Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings (we had a balcony, sea view). The staff worked very hard keeping the hotel clean and tidy. Breakfast and dinner was great. Bar staff at the pool and in the evening were fantastic serving lovely cocktails. The rooms were always clean and tidy too.
On the negatives, we found some of the reception staff very blunt and unhelpful - our daughter was booked a single room but on checking-in were told the hotel was over-booked and her room was not available, only a 'temporary' room. This turned out to be a very poor room on the edge of the main hotel building. It had not been serviced properly with somebody's laundry hanging outside on the chairs by the room. We were promised her 'proper' room would be available the next day. Not so. Again bluntly told we were wrongly informed and it would only be available the following day - no others were available. Two days later, on being given the key to her expected room, low and behold two people are occupying the room! They were leaving but using the room as a 'day room'! We complained again and this time it was sorted promptly. Not a great start.
For myself and my wife's room - the air con didn't work properly (it was really needed given the high temperature and humidity at the time). Reception were asked three times over the course of the week to have someone take a look at it but no response. Clearly there had been a problem for a while as the ceiling panels above the unit were missing!
Finally, the mini-bar. My wife fancied a wine from the mini-bar so opened one of the bottles. After one sip it turned out to be dirty water with some very dubious debris floating in the bottom of the bottle. I took it down to reception and asked for a replacement - "go to the pool bar" was the response. No apology or anything - very poor. I would at least have thought an apology and an offer of a free glass would have been forthcoming. Summed them up really.
Evening musical entertainment was very average and suited to an older generation than ourselves.
Aside from these negatives we really liked the hotel.
Ischia is a very pretty island known mostly to only Italians, which was great. The people were friendly and we had a good holiday.

Room Tip: Choose a room with balcony and sea view.
