We took a quick vacation to Ischia and decided to stay at Hotel Gemma. Wise decision on our part. Every staff member has a smile on their face and a ready, helping hand. Clean, comfortable facilities, easily accessible, excellent location. Best valye, can't beat this deal anywhere in Casamicciola. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Gemma. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. We had no idea what we were going to do in Ischia, and they gave us great directions and recommendations. My cousin ate at the hotel restaurant one night (I wasn't feeling too hot) and enjoyed her meal there. The breakfasts were great!

There are bus lines in front of the hotel and easy taxi rides into the port.

I would definitely stay here again while in Ischia!

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Hotel Gemma. We got a very good deal! It is a family run hotel and you are made to feel part of it! Domenico on reception was very helpful, hekping us to translate the menu each day! Our room although a little small had two balconies, one overlooking the garden/pool and the other with a beautiful sea view! We got clean towels every day and fresh bedding.
We went bed and breakfast, but the evening meals were so nice ans only 17 euros for a four (sometimes 5 course meal ) was certainly well worth the money!.
We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone wanting really good value for money in a very traditonal Italian family run hotel.

After a gap of 7 years we stayed once again. Although perhaps some parts of the hotel needs updating the service provided by the family was first class. Half board was on special offer and each 4 course meal was different. The home cooking was fantastic although we had to google some of the menu items to see what was being cooked. We used the bus service again was was still cheap but less frequent than last time. Went to Negombo thermal park and this place is worth a visit. The hotel give vouchers for 3 euro discount. It all helps.

We loved our 6-day stay here! It is a family-owned and run hotel and they were absolutely wonderful! They made us feel as if we were part of the family.

The room was very clean. There was air conditioning and wireless internet. The daily breakfast was excellent with a good variety of both hot and cold food. The bed was reasonably comfortable (8 out of 10) and our room opened up onto a terrace with an amazing view of the sea and of Mt. Vesuvius. The showers varied...some days solid hot water, other days it changed between hot and cold and hot during the time I took a shower.

One of the things I liked most was that there was a drying rack on the terrace so we could rinse out and dry our swimwear every night. It's such a small thing, but it made a huge difference in our stay. Another thing that made a difference is that they offer a discount to the Thermal Spa that's within walking distance. We used that discount two different days.

The dinners were also very good and filling. The menu was fixed and changed nightly. We were able to have rabbit one evening, which is the main dish for which Ischia is known. It was very good.

It would be better to have a car, however the bus stop into town and around the island is only about 30 meters from the hotel. This made it very convenient to move around the island.

I would stay here again if in the area and I have already recommended it to others who may at some point in the future visit Ischia. Loved the hotel and loved the family!

Room Tip: Splurge for a sea view and ask for a terrace room.

The buildings may be a little dated, but it is well presented with beautiful gardens and the personnel were great - helpful and courteous. For what we paid the services incl. the pool, spa, breakfast etc were fantastic. It is on the road between casamicciola and ischia porto, and a reasonable but pleasant walk is required to reach either of the two. Buses run often however from nearby. Recommended.
