“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

We stayed here for three nights. It's a short walk from the ferry so really convenient if like us you come in on the last ferry of the night and/or are due to leave on the earliest. It's convenient for local eateries and buses.
It's a well designed hotel and each room has an individual feel, and the pool is smallish but great. The breakfast is lovely and goes on till 11am which is great too.
The best thing about the hotel is the staff. Both receptionists we met were very happy to suggest restaurants, places to go, things to do. And they were happy to help with anything.

One downside the beds are HARD !

We had a lovely long weekend here.

Room Tip: We booked a room with a balcony which was nice.

We have one night in this charming hotel , everything was design and beautiful , it is difficult to find a design hotel like this one in Ischia, near the beach in lovely place , people working here were helpful with smile, and price very correct ( we pay nearly the same for an old hotel with small and old room without pool ... )
Definitively a good choice !

My partner and I were really excited to be going go Ischia and staying at the Marina 10 Boutique Hotel. However from the moment we arrived we felt disappointed by the experience.

On arrival there was no one at the desk, we had to wait a while for someone to appear. As we waited an Italian family arrived after us, when the the receptionist did arrive she served them first even though they told her we had been waiting. She served them drinks from the bar and snacks. After a long journey the same would've been nice! When we were finally served we were told our room was not ready (even though we had arrived well after the check in time). She told us to leave our bags in reception get our swimming kit on and sit the garden. We said we'd rather wait for the room to be ready to which we were made to feel an inconvenience and asked to move from the area as it was being cleaned (no cleaning was being done).

From beginning to end we were disappointed. There were many issues:

The pool was an unhealthy shade of green and left your skin feeling oily after a swim. It clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while.

The breakfast wasn't that nice. Many of the items making repeat performances day after day until they were eaten. The bread and cakes were extremely stale. You were also limited to just one coffee!

The music was played over and over through speakers all over the hotel from early every morning. Always the same! Never before have I detested Phil Collins so much! It was an ongoing joke with the guests.

The local area was very touristy. No good restaurants nearby - not a real taste of Italian life.

The service was the main issue here. Any query with the receptionist we were made to feel an inconvenience. We asked her to book a taxi which we knew was going to be about 20 euro's on the standard tariff, she quoted us 90 and told us were better booking it ourselves. On multiple times she stopped talking to us in the middle of a conversation to serve someone else, told us she'd be back and never returned! The one time we did return to her and ask her to finish the conversation she had no idea what we were talking about. One morning we returned to the room to find the receptionist and the cleaner arguing in it! The cleaner was clearly upset so we decided to return a little bit later, 15 mins later it was still the same so we just went in. The arguing stopped then!

The one good thing of this hotel was the cleaning. Our cleaner was brilliant, she did a fab job and made our room a haven to be in. The room was lovely (except the very hard bed, but this seems typical of many places in Italy).

My wife and I have just returned from an 8 day trip to Ischia and after careful searching had selected the Marina 10. We were not disappointed. It is a very modern boutique hotel with only 20 rooms and has a real quirky and modern feel to it. The whole place was immaculate and spotlessly clean with your room being cleaned and freshly made up every day. The young lady (and there is only one I believe) who is responsible for this feat on a daily basis deserves a medal. The gardens are small but very well kept as is the pool which is very private and relaxing.
We had picked the room with the large open plan balcony so I can't comment on the others, however the room was more than adequate in size for a couple with a nice large shower. The open plan terrace is enormous with your own patio furniture and umbrella accessed directly from the room. You are allowed to have breakfast up there if you wish, however we chose to eat in the dining room which is the typical buffet style in the Med. Served 8 - 11 so plenty time for a lie in and very tasty with excellent service from Danielle who spoke good English. The other two ladies Francesca and Vicki who ran reception were also good English speakers and were also very efficient and more than happy to help in any way possible.
The Hotel is situated one street back from the main road in a pedestrianised area which makes it really quiet and has a cash machine immediately next door to the entrance. The main bus stops to take you anywhere on the island are 30 seconds walk away and the port with the ferry to Naples is immediately across the road (5 min walk). We were easily able to walk to the hotel with our cases from the ferry.
We would only have one criticism however which if we had known before would have resulted in us booking elsewhere. The hotel advertises that it has high speed broadband available (which it does), however because of the poor range you can only connect if you were sitting in reception. This is something that could be easily remedied and is the only thing letting it down at the moment.
Other than that we would definitely recommend the Marina 10.

Just returned from a blissful week at the lovely Marina 10 and I'm already desperate to go back!

We booked a week long girly getaway on the basis of the other Tripadvisor reviews and I'm pleased to report that we made completely the right decision. From the moment we arrived, Valentina and Federica were fabulous hosts - so friendly, so welcoming and so keen to make our stay memorable.

Our room, 103, was spacious and airy with excellent airconditioning (important in the Ischian heat!) and a modern, immaculately clean bathroom. Plus we had a walk-in wardrobe, which as women we were very grateful for. Only niggle was that the door rattled when other people slammed their doors but during our stay, a handyman popped round to fiddle with the door and this seemed to improve matters. A very minor quibble though & the staff were obviously already trying to fix it prior to our arrival.

The pool area was secluded & quiet with super comfy sunloungers - luckily we had it to ourselves for most of our stay! We were very impressed with the lovely gardens too and enjoyed strolling through them at night with the twinkly lights, the trickle of the fountain and the soft jazz (which is piped through the gardens all day and evening).

Breakfast was varied and plentiful with beautiful handmade Italian coffees made especially for us every morning. The breakfast area was then transformed into a pretty cafe area post-11am, where we enjoyed several glasses of Prosecco and Aperol Spritzes in the evenings while overlooking the gorgeous gardens.

While there, we treated ourselves to a massage for about 30E each (from a muscly young Italian guy - hooray!) which took place in the private spa area, which has a Turkish Bath, Jacuzzi and rainfall shower. With low-lighting, lots of candles, atmospheric music and a pretty treatment area sheathed with gauzy curtains, it was the perfect way to round off our trip.

The staff couldn't do enough to help during our stay and kindly helped organise a bottle of Prosecco and a fresh fruit platter in the room for my friend's birthday. Not only that but, totally unprompted, on my friend's birthday they brought out a beautiful birthday cake at breakfast time which she was especially touched by.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Marina 10 - this hotel really is a hidden gem!

We stayed here in September 2012. We had a fantastic stay. The hotel was beautiful and perfectly clean. The rooms were spacious and again very clean. The spa was reasonably priced €30 for a back neck and shoulder massage. The spa was small and simple but perfectly lovely. The area was great. Recommend the restaurant over the road, called calise, great food and very reasonably priced. The hotel breakfast was nice, plenty of choice and lovely pastries. Staff were fantastic and very helpful. Couldn't fault the staff who couldn't do enough to help. They spoke good English and were happy to recommend places. Free wifi in reception and the breakfast room which was a great help. Can't recommend this place highly
Enough!! Great value for money

My hubbie and I stayed here for a week in September. We were a bit shell shocked when we got off the ferry in Casamicciola as it seemed to be just a small strip with a very busy main road and a few cafes and restaurants. I was really worried about the week ahead until we got into the hotel. The hotel is an absolute haven from the noisy road outside. It's a little bit off the road and when you enter you get a lovely sense of calm and tranquility. The design of the hotel is quite unique and it's really well planted with most rooms looking over into the garden. The rooms are a little small but sufficient and the staff are great, exceptionally friendly and professional. I also like the way they play jazz music throughout the hotel during the day, very soothing. It's a great little hotel for the price and as its close to the main road it's a great location for buses and taxis to all the other places on the island.
