Returned to the Pergola at end April for a week. Loved it. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating. Although we were part of a large group of ladies, they recognised us from last year. This is a really lovely, family-run hotel. This year they arranged for us (all who stayed in the hotel) to visit their vineyard, where they grow grapes (for the wine) and vegetables and herbs for the hotel. A short talk on the history of the site was given by one of the brothers. The view is spectacular. The rest of the guests were affable to us (English was not their first language), even asking us to sing for them - a privilege. Next year, I'd love to be able to say: 'bella tornare' ' lovely to be back.
