“Wondeful stay - highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

I have just returned from a 6 day stay at the Villa Romana in Minori. It exceeded all of my expectations. A family-run hotel, we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrivied. All of the staff were friendly and the family owners were particularly helpful - going out of their way to make our stay comfortable and something very special. The food was wonderful, all home-cooked, freshly prepared Italian food with a good variety of dishes each day and very good portion size so no worries about going hungry! We were there during a heat wave and it was such a pleasure to come back each day and take a dip in the pool which in itself was a lovely, cool, serene area, with a bar area and lots of shade. A very special hotel which I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay on the Amalfi coastline. We are already thinking about when to return.

Room Tip: We had two adjoining rooms which we were able to open so we could have our own privacy but also comm...

We have returned from a wonderful stay at the 4star hotel villa romana. What a wonderful hotel. The staff were so cheerful and helpful and the food outstanding! Every night each course was typical Italian food and the desserts were especially good. The swimming pool was very inviting and because it was early in the season and not crowded it felt like this was your very own villa. Minori itself was lovely and the beach approximately a 5 minute stroll from our hotel. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for couples as it was so romantic.

Room Tip: Room 378 has a balcony overlooking the little side road where you can sit and watch the world go by...

I have just returned from a wonderful week's stay at the outstanding Villa Romana in Minori on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. The hotel is rated 4 star but I would definitely say that another star is justified as the food alone is worthy of a 5 star rating. A family run establishment which is just 5 minutes from the beach of Minori and certainly an added bonus for me was that there were no other Brits in town, paradise! Excellent breakfast selection of fresh fruit, hams, cheese, cerials, juices, fresh bread, cakes and sweet rolls all served in the charming dining room whose ceiling is coated in a spreadeagled bougainvillia. The dining experience is overseen by the wonderful Head Waiter, Rocco who is from the old school of Italian professionals - a master in his trade, gently swirling around tables ensuring that everyone is supplied with extra portions of the wonderful food they make fresh every day, including fresh pasta. The rooms are clean and airy with air conditioning and the bathrooms are well designed with good size shower. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels. Even though the hotel is in the centre, my room faced a side street and there was no disturbance from scooters etc. I would strongly recommend this hotel and can't wait to go back - a true flavour of southern Italy.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front of the hotel have balconys which would be an added bonus.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable holiday staying in Minori. The hotel was as described in previous reviews - brilliant and helpful staff, clean rooms, very good and freshly made food with waiter service - a definite plus after the usual dinner buffet service in most hotels - a lovely small pool and terrace. We asked for a quiet room and we were located at the rear of the hotel overlooking the pool so had no problems with noise. I always travel with ear plugs anyway so we could keep the aircon on all night. We had a few niggles at first but everything was sorted out immediately and we relaxed into the holiday, which was organised through Travelsphere. I don't normally book a package but on this holiday it was definitely a bonus as the organisation, tours and support was great. Now running out of superlatives. Minori is a lovely small village and a perfect location for exploring this gloriously beautiful area.

This hotel is excellent-very clean, very helpful staff, good food, sometimes homemade pasta.Fun short entertainments after dinner. Rooms large and comfortable as are the beds.Small pool with lots of sunbeds and umbrellas if you prefer shade. Also a sun terrace equally well equipped.

The problem is the noise of traffic. It goes on until midnight and starts very early in the morning.Do not expect to sleep well. There are rooms at the back but all the dogs seem to be let out and they yap! There are also all the motorbikes and scooters which are very noisy. It is such a shame because otherwise it would be perfect.

Very small seafront in Minori but lots of bars.Would rate the holiday as 8 out of 10.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the pool are the only quiet ones.

We have just had a very happy stay at the Hotel Villa Romana in Minori. Perfect location in what feels like a genuine Italian ‘village’ but in relatively close proximity to Amalfi, Sorrento, Pompeii and the lovely ‘citta della musica’ Ravello - Ravello sits ‘above’ Minori, with Maiori the next coastal village just a walk away.
The hotel staff were all helpful; rooms were clean; breakfasts were a feast to suit all tastes from pastries to prawns; with drinks machines that added to the entertainment value as few people got them right first time! We were on half board and not only had a good three course meal to look forward to each night with very authentic local dishes, but also demonstrations and tastings after dinner – including pizza margherita; pasta; lemon babas; limoncello (lemon liqueur); with a recipe sheet to take home at the end. We have long wanted to visit the Amalfi coast and the Hotel Villa Romana provided the perfect base
We travelled with Travelsphere who looked after us well; efficient transfers; excellent travel guide, Bernie, who was knowledgeable and helpful throughout; brilliant skilful drivers who knew the roads so well.

Room Tip: Suspect rooms not facing the road are quieter!

Stayed for a week with family. We included several cooking lessons and the staff was gracious. Location was great for traveling to other areas including Capri. The rooms are nice and clean. Large room with balcony was a treat. Overall loved the town by the sea.
