“camping here, barter hard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

We stayed here for two nights camping. It has a spectacular view to wake up to every morning, only room for about four tents. The owner obviously makes up his own prices and starts very high so barter hard for the campsite. It has a basic kitchen with a fridge which is handy. A 20minute walk straight downhill into town. Don t accept the offer of the local wine on arrival, its 5 euros and is worse than vinegar!

This is a great little place perched on the hill on the north side of Minori. To get there you have to climb a fair amount of steps but the effort is worth it! the view on Ravello is amazing and homemade food awaits there if you ordered it. They also have some lemon produces and homemade wine for sale. The limoncello is the best one I ever tried!

Room Tip: This is a great place if you like walking/hiking, it really captures the spirit of the amalfi coast...

My husband and I stayed here late September 2012. We were met in the village by Ornella and her husband Salvatore who took us up to the apartment. As other reviewers have stated there are lots of steps but this was not a problem for us as Salvatore carried all our luggage and we took our time and enjoyed the wonderful scenery. The apartment is beautiful all modern conveniences one double bedroom, one with bunk beds a bathroom (if I am to be a bit picky I dont like shower curtains) and a kitchen/dining room. There are two apartments (one on the ground floor and one first floor) we stayed in the one on the upper floor. Each apartment has their own balcony and garden area with chairs and hammocks amongst the olive and lemon trees) I could go on forever and ever about the amazing scenery down the valley to Minori and the ocean and looking across to Ravello. There was a wedding on the first night we arrived and you could hear the wonderful opera music carry across the valley. We slept very well in the comfortable bed and quiet surroundings (usually I am a very light sleeper). We were provided with red wine (homemade) and lemonade every day (there is a small charge of €5 per bottle of wine and it was very good). Ornella would also leave lemons and tomatoes for us.If you need any shopping Ornella will kindly arrange that for you. We had read about her homecooked dinners and decided to order one evening and we were not disappointed. All of the vegetables and fruit and wine come from their own produce. Previous to that I had mentioned to her that I liked rabbit and on that evening she surprised me by having rabbit for my main course. From the restaurant there are great views also. There is a local bus that stops outside the steps to the apartments and during the summer this runs on a regular basis however as it was late in September the bus was not very frequent and the last one was at 7pm in the evening. Taxis are available however and one evening we were sitting in the piazza at the Church where the bus stop is and the owner of the cafe in that piazza saw that we were waiting a long time and approached us to see if he could help. He called a local guy Maurizzo (sorry if I have spelled your name wrong) to taxi us and after the first night we would ring him and he would come to the village for us. The local people are very nice and friendly and Minori itself is beautiful, lovely walks along the promenade where the locals come together every evening. From Minori there are local buses that take you to any of the other resorts. We visited Ravello, Amalfi, Positano and many more. We also took the boat to Capri. When we were leaving Ornella gave us a lovely gift, a hand painted ceramic bell which now sits in our kitchen and is a reminder of good times and good people. Our flight was leaving Naples early morning and the buses times were not suitable and taxis very expensive. Due to the fact that it was end of season and a quiet time for Salvatore he kindly agreed to taxi us to the airport and we were very grateful to them for this service. To sum up this area is beautiful, the apartment was spotlessly clean and has all mod cons, the owners and their son are wonderful people who will assist you in any way they can, the location is simply stunning and we would definitely have no hesitation in recommending Il Campanile.

Room Tip: we would stay in any of the two apartments .

(This is a review of the AgriCamping - not the appartments)

I found this agriturismo on the internet where it looked really good - offering great views, a game park as well as horse riding it sounded as the perfect stop for a family camping tour to an agriturismo. The views from the campsite are indeed fantastic you have a first row seat to Minori and Ravello. That said it came as a bit of a surprise to us how difficult it was to get to the camp site - after driving around for 1 1/2 hours we finally located the spot, only to find out that we had to walk uphill 10 minutes or so with all our gear to reach our destination. Even though the owners were helpful in carrying some of our luggage, I think we would have found accommodation elsewhere had we known. With regards to the other things on offer mentioned above, it is a bit of an exaggeration to call it a game park as said in the brochure - there are a few swings etc but that is it. And for the horse riding - there were some horses but my kids were not offered any riding (we didn't ask either). What irritated us the most, though, was that the kitchen and toilet facilities at the camp site simply did not live up to the standard that you should expect nowadays. We could not see that it was cleaned during the four days that we were there and when we were being charged for using the washing machine (which nowhere said that it had a price tag to it) as well as gas in the kitchen (also without a price tag) you cannot help feeling that you are not being treated properly. Even though the owner is very welcoming (and we did not pay for the gas in the end), I cannot recommend this agricamping to other families.

Ornella and her husband are wonderful hosts. The apartment was as advertised, clean and comfy. We were provided with yummy lemonade and wine from their own trees and vines, and the dinner Ornella cooked us on our first night there was delicious and filling (although we were a little surprised by the high cost).

One thing to beware of: many many many steps must be climbed to get to the Ibiscus apartment (and the entire place). If you are faint of heart or leg muscles, this is not the place for you.

Should our travels take us back to Minori, we will definitely go back to Il Campanile.

We spend one week in villa Ibiscus, stunning vieuws over the village the see and Ravello! The owners were very helpfull with luggage tranfer 184 steps up to the apartment. The first evening we had an excellent meal made by the owners. Prices are reasonable. Self made wine and marmelade are delicious! Transport from the apartment to the village is easy, the bus runs every hour. If you want to relax, you can lie in the hammock under de lemon trees.
If you are looking for a lazy holiday, this is the address!!

We stayed four nights in the Ibiscus apartment and had a very relaxing and comfortable stay. The apartment was clean, fresh and airy with a kitchen fully stocked with all the essential cooking equipment. As the review below mentions, both apartments are blessed with probably one of the best views of the Amalfi coast. We sat on the loungers outside the house to watch the stunning sunset every evening. The owners Salvatore and Ornella gave us a very walm welcome and cooked us a superb four course dinner complete with a carafe of Salvatore's red wine produced on site! We also purchased some of their own fresh produce (tomatoes, aubergines etc..) to cook with. The climb to the apartments is demanding but you do get used to it after a couple of goes!

The site is a short walk or minibus ride (which leave hourly during the day) from Minori further down the valley, which is very nice little town with a wide range of food shops and cafes. There is also a beach which was not as busy as the beaches in the more touristy towns further up the coast. The people are very friendly and the atmosphere is super laid back. The SITA bus service is reliable and nearby Amalfi and Ravello are easily reached. There are also some spectacular walks possible from the site, but they involve a lot of steps and are not for the faint hearted!

Highly recommended!
