“Beautiful hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

If you take the bus from Positano to Nocelle, this is an easy hike, fairly level. We had a map, but realized that it wasn't essential. The trail splits into an upper path and a lower path. The lower one is wider but the upper path was fine too. We hiked it round trip.

“Positano is for the heart”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

I've taken the bus down from Nocelle - Casa Cuccaro which I strongly recommend again Dina&Pepe the hosts of the year/centennial. I've stop downtown at a kiosk to buy a book for the holiday and asked the funny venerable italian owner of the shop " I've read a lot about Positano, but could you tell me what is the really important thing to do in Positano". The wise answer had been "Absolutamente niente! Positano is for the heart, go to the beach, walk around have a pizza, have a beer and take in the scenery and above all the atmosphere. I did exactly that for 4 days... and it worked. So once in Positano, relax, take a deep breath, watch the orchestra on Saturday, taste the food on hidden streets restaurants... and everything will be fine.

“A great walk (no hiking boots required)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Beautiful vistas. We were staying in Nocelle. Took a bus to Positano, a boat to Amalfi, and then a bus to Bomberano (spelling?). It may take you a while to get to the start or get back to the start but worth the time. Make sure you have enough water. Take a picnic lunch and you won't be dissatisfied.

“Not to be missed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

We absolutely loved the Walk of the Gods. This is not to be missed by those who are fit enough to walk three miles over occasionally uneven terrain. We were able to do it fine with a guidebook (Walking the Amalfi Coast, available on Amazon) without a guide, though we saw a couple of guides on the trail that we would not have minded walking with.

Once you get to Nocelle or Montepertuso, it is possible to take a local bus back down to Positano. We walked all the way to the bus stop on the main road behind Positano, but it is not necessary to do that to enjoy the main part of the walk which stretches from Bomerano to Nocelle.
