“Superb campsite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

Beata Solitudo stands for its name: blessed peace awaits you there in beautiful surroundings.Owners Annamaria and Paulo are the most organized hosts we have met anywhere recently, ready to provide you with photocopied timetables, maps of walks or a book on local history if you happen to be interested, as well as with practical advice. We had a bungalow, so were self-sufficient, which is easy with the small shops all around the main square. Buses run on time from Agerola but you may find it difficult to get back from Amalfi: when a bus is full-up, it leaves before time. Taxidrivers like ripping you off: the man we hired offered the ride Amalfi - S. Lazarro for 90 euros , he rounded that up to a hundred when we got in, and at the end refused to take us any longer than the first street in Bomerano.
Anyhow, this is about the campsite and it's superb!

a beautiful campsite, with an adjoining hostel, on lattari mountains that overlook Amalfi Coast. Agerola, and in particular the village of San Lazzaro, is a small quiet, clean place, time and stress are away, surrounded by nature, with very tasty and genuine food and cozy and friendly inhabitants. It does not even seem to be in the province of Naples, my city! The campsite is easily accessible both by car and by bus Amalfi-Agerola, off at the terminus.
the price of the camp is very low, everything is very clean, the toilets are very good, the pitches are large and equipped with parking space and connection for electric current, it is possible to rent bungalows and caravans, there are many places for BBQ, many stations for washing. The place is silent and you can sleep very well. The climate is always fresh and not moist, the view is beautiful, the water is drinkable and very good. In the nearby there is everything: restaurant, pub, bar, tobacconist, newsagent, butcher, cheese dairy, butcher, sports pitches, hiking trails, a church, pharmacy, ironmongery, the bus stop to the most important destinations. The managers are friendly, kind, welcoming and attentive. There are campers who return here for twenty years and are ready to invite you to dinner, welcome you, give you advices. It seems a large family and you feel really at home. Unforgettable!

Situated in a picturesque italian down in the amalfi hills, this hostel was the ideal home base for our stay on the amalfi coast. the owners, paulo and anna maria were helpful, friendly and professional. As a family of four we stayed in a quadruple room at a very reasonable price. Breakfast options were varied and high quality. A first class experience, i highly recommend it.

We camped at Beata Solitudo for 4 nights during our Naples/Amalfi Coast trip. We arrived to Agerola via bus from Naples (2 hours) and found the campsite very easily - its the last stop on the bus journey. The bus drops you off in the main piazza which is very pretty and is a stones throw away fom the grande entrance of Beata Solitudo. The hosts spoke excellent English and and were happy to help with any queries we had throughout our stay. The campsites facilities were great - 50 cents for a hot shower and free use of the kitchen and a games room with table football and tele. Our pitch was covered by a canopy which helped to keep the tent cool and stopped us getting wet when it rained one night.
We took the ancient steps down to Amalfi which was a very long walk all down steps, but worth it for the view along the way and the beach at the end (One Fire) which is a short walk to Amalfi centre. We also did the Path of the Gods from Bomerano to Priano which was steep but amazing (I would recommend getting the bus to Bomerano to the official start of the walk rather than walking as the hostel map suggests). The campsite is 600 m up in the mountains and due to the position of the towns it does take a while to get around (1+ hour to Amalfi, which is a good base to get to the other sites). However, the buses are cheap, realiable and an excellent way to see the amazing scenery. I would definately recommend this campsite (one of the few on the Amalfi) as a cheap way to see the coastline, adequate and clean facilities which is set in a pretty village which has nice restuarants and chilled out vibe.

One of the best hostel I have stayed. Not directly on the coast but really easy to take the bus to visit costal village. A good place for its proximity with hiking trails. Buses for Napoli and amalfi coast pass just in front of the hostel. The owner is really nice and give you on paper all the informations you need (bus, hiking). He can sell you bus ticket also. Quiet place, you sleep well and there is a huge kitchen (2 oven, 2 fridge, etc...). I highly recommand!!! I was supposed to stay there 1 night and end up with 3!

By the time we arrived from Naples we were desperate for a little rest. Furtunately this Hotel is ideally placed at the end of the bus routes (from Naples, Amalfi) so we didn't have far to walk. The rooms are of an exellent standard, complete with everything we needed for a great stay. Paulo and his wife proved to be extremely helpful and friendly, with a great knowledge of local walks and services. Elvira did a great job cleaning up after us (with 3 kids that's not an easy thing!) and it was a luxury to return each day to a tidy, clean room. After walking all day our kids returned and relaxed by watching a dvd in the lounge or playing one of the games stored there. The kitchen was well equipped, although we made the most of the local restaurants. The breakfasts were very varied (breads, cheese, meats, croissants and a different local cake each day). We would recommend this to anyone visiting Agerola/Amalfi Coast, especially if they want to take advantage of the fabulous walks.

Beata Solituto is really excellent and beautiful place, where you can stay when you are planning a trip to Amalfi coast. You can easily find it, because it is the last stop of the Sita Bus in the direction of Agerola. Before our trip we were little bit worried about the connection to Agerola, because our flight was on Sunday, so we had written to Beata Solitudo how could we get there, and they replied to us immedietly, we were positively surprised. There is just one thing that is not perfect and it is connection to Amalfi, on the other hand you can rent a car there or use local Sita buses. All the services are excellent, everything is perfectly clean and what is more, the owners are very warm and sympathetic..Once more again thanks a lot for your services and kindness...
