“Judith 61052 Hotel is a gem - lovely stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

June 10th-14th 2012 Naxos the largest of the islands in the Cyclades was the second port of call on our island hopping holiday.
Princess of Naxos at St George’s Bay was the hotel booked by our travel agent Thomas Cook and what a gem it was a very superior 3 star nearer to 4 star plus. Vangelis and his team should be congratulated this is by far the best bed and breakfast hotel I have stayed in Greece. The room was ultra-modern spacious big screen TV, a walk in wet shower room with the whitest fluffy towels I have ever seen in a hotel. The balcony was large and there was also a private sofa seating area outside our room door if the balcony became too hot. The pool area was immaculate with comfortable sunbeds and towels were provided there are also a hot tub and a snack bar. The breakfast provided was to a very high standard so much choice and very fresh. I would highly recommend this hotel.
St George’s bay is a short 5 minute walk to a beautiful sandy bay with crystal clear very shallow water ideal for children. There are plenty sunbeds and café bars restaurants the length of the bay at very reasonable prices.
From St Georges Bay you can wall along the promenade to the port area Porara where you see the ruins of the temple of Apollo on a jutting peninsula. This area has numerous restaurants café bars and a large shopping area. In the old town you can get lost in a maze of winding streets leading upwards to an ancient venetian castle it has a mixture of old and new. This was such a relaxing holiday so much to see. For the more adventurous there are very good bus connections to other parts of the island.

We had an excellent two night stay at Princess of Naxos. The brothers who run this hotel are a great team and really went the extra mile to make sure that we were 1) comfortable with our room 2) knew where we were in relation to the town and how to get to town 3) made it very easy to rent a car or bike.

The room and care provided was superb the highlight of our honeymoon island hopping. When Dawn needed to go to hospital the manager Vaggelis took us and sorted out all the little details and then took us to the pharmacy.
The majority of food served at breakfast is grown at the hotel and all the cakes and pastries are home made.
The pool is modern and state of the art like our room which was superb, electric shutters, modern shower and designer bathroom.
The title of the review says it all.

As the title says, this was our 5th time staying at the Princess of Naxos. When we first stayed many years ago there wasn't a pool or bar area and no superior rooms as today, but it was still a perfect place to stay.

We have just returned after staying on Naxos for 8 days and everything was first class. We were met at the port and as every other time, the service was excellent. We booked a superior room which was spotless and cleaned every day. Towels were provided for the pool area and breakfast was also very good. The staff are very friendly and cant do enough for you.

We also hired a car which was all organised by the hotel.

With regards to the location, yes it is on a road, but it's not a motorway and the beach is minutes away. The walk into town is along the beach and after walking it for 5 years it really isn't very far and it's very enjoyable!

I couldn't recommend highly enough this hotel and the island of Naxos and we will definitely go back again one day!

I've just enjoyed a three day stay at this family run hotel.
It's well located on a beach within easy access to the main port town of Chora
The staff are experienced, friendly, professional and very welcoming
Large rooms have been upgraded and the bathrooms are excellent
A full breakfast includes healthy & hot food
Car hire and coach tours were efficiently organised by the staff
The pool is a modern, protected from the wind and it is a delight to swim with a beach view

We are a family of 4 with 2 very young kids. We stayed in this hotel for 5 days in may 2012. Overall i have mix feelings about this hotel.

Its a family run or i should say "vaggalis" run hotel. Vaggalis had been a very nice host he tries to make your stay comfortable. The Pool in the hotel is small but beautiful. They have a cute little pool for the kids as well which is nice. They also provide a laundry service which is quite fast and good. The breakfast is fine but same choices were repeated for all five days.
The location is a big turnoff if you have kids and dont have a car. Specially when you have to walk that unconstructed and unlighted patch to reach the hotel. Our room was clean and nicely furnished but bathroom was small and had just one handheld shower.
Apparently we have booked a room on the ground floor but since we were the only guests at that time so were "upgraded" to another room. But i think with the price i was paying i would not have accepted the ground floor room anyways. overall i think since its a family run hotel so it has a warmth and charm of its own but definitely cannot be considered as a 3star hotel.

We arrived on the ferry at 6am, we were able to check in that morning at 8am without additional charges. The staff were great and helpful. The location is ideal, away from the center but close enough to drive or walk. The rooms were spacious with large bathroom and a balcony. Parking was easy and plenty of room.
The owner of the hotel invited us to a traditional Greek Easter Fest with friends and family on Easter Day. The weather was beautiful, the food was plentiful and great and the wine was excellent. We could not have asked for a more traditional Easter Fest.
