“charming hotel steps from the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

Just came for 2 day/1night trip from Athens and could have stayed forever. Even though it was the last day of the "season" (Oct 21/13) everything was open. This little family-run hotel is literally steps from St George Beach, very nice, exceptionally clean and the staff was lovely and helpful. The wifi was free and the room was a nice size with a balcony and partial ocean view. The breakfast was simple and delicious. We were provided a shuttle from the port to the hotel and back...thanks Mike. We will definitely be back and for much longer visit.

We rented an apartment with a little kitchen for our stay in Naxos. Pick-up from the port worked without any problems, the driver even offered to show us around a bit.
The room is big enough for two people, the kitchen was well equipped and everything was clean. The cleaning lady comes daily except sundays.
The room's furniture is not fancy but more than sufficient for a normal holiday. The balcony was facing the street and a bit of the sea yet it was always quiet. The beach is about 20 m away and one of the best we have found in Naxos as there are no riffs or stones.
The centre of the Chora is a 10 min walk away, but around the corner you can already find plenty of supermarkets, restaurants, bars, shops and car rentals.
There's free Wi-Fi in the hotel lobby nearby.

We'll come back for sure next time we're in Naxos!

The hotel conviced us with its price, but we didn't expect such a good service and facilities. The rooms are cleaned every day and new fresh towels are brought by very kind ladies. The guy, who took us from the port was very friendly and talkative. On the last day of our stay he suggested we leave our luggage in the hotel, because our ferrie was at 18:00 and check out time was till 12:00. In addition we could take shower if we feel like going on the beach.
It is one of the best hotel for a few days in Naxos.

Cleanliness could've been better (stains on sheets, etc), but for the price, fantastic location, free port pick up/drop off and kitchenette in my spacious dorm, I'll take it. Security could've been better too.

When my roommate and I planned our trip to Greece we wanted a travel experience that was not fraught with the chaos of tourists that we had struggled with in Rome. Summer months are filled with travelers of a great variety. Having experienced large cities, the hustle and bustle was something we wanted to leave behind for a bit. We needed a break.

Naxos was truly the perfect place for us to relax & the Soula Hotel was a great choice for two college students traveling on a budget. Upon arrival, we were picked up by the Soula Hotel van. At first, we thought it wouldn't come but we ventured a bit further into the port area and found a very tan Michalis waving & holding the hotel sign for us. So, immediately our fears of having to trek across the small island to find the hotel were dismissed. In the van, Michalis whizzed and swerved through some very windy back-roads and dropped us off at the hotel. We were immediately showed to our rooms.

The rooms were quite nice. Both my roommate and I were a bit anxious to see the conditions of our rooms due to our not-so-great experience in Santorini. However, the sheets & bedding seemed perfectly clean and the room looked almost newly renovated. It seems we booked a hotel room rather than a hostel room shared with other individuals. I think, after reading a previous review by a hostel-stayer and through my personal experience, the hotel room was definitely a better experience. The hotel area was rather quiet (perhaps because we were there in the early summer season). Downstairs was the common area where the Wifi worked best, but we didn't use much technology while we were there.

Our experience outside of the hotel in Naxos was lovely as well. The island did have many visitors. However, it was nothing compared to the hoards of people in Santorini that got a bit overwhelming. Naxos felt a bit like a private island for us. It was mostly quiet but at night it was bustling with friendly chatter and delectable seafood smells. I would definitely go back to stay at Soula should I get another opportunity to be back in Greece.

If anyone is interested, here are some photos I took of while I was visiting Naxos. Though they aren't necessarily pictures of the hotel itself, perhaps they will give you an idea of what the island is like both in the daytime & nighttime: http://www.flickr.com/photos/okbesko/sets/72157634309266510/

Cheers & happy traveling!

We always stay in st george and since our usual spot was fully booked we decided to try Soula hotel, due to the very attractive cheap rates...

The hotel includes free pickup and drop of servvice from the port, which was operated by the excellent michalis, and when we checked into the room everyhitng was as we had discussd via email, so we had a balcony, a fridge and wifi working well inside our room. The only isue with the room was the shower would flood the whole bathrom due to an ill-fitted shower curtain, but the cleaning lady cleaned it very well every day so it was more a problem for them than for us..

also the towels they provide are a bit small but all in all the room was totally fine for the location and cost.

It seems to be a hotel favoured by groups of young pople so it could get a little lively at times, but so long as you dont mind closing all windows (double glazed) and use the A/c you will be fine, if you want to have the windows open you might get a little noise form neighbours, but I do have to say this was only on like 3/4 nights out of a 3 week stay so not really a big deal...

also the wifi reached our room very well, as we were in the main block, but some rooms dont get it so they have a 'common area' where between 6-9pm its full of pople using their smartphones/laptops/tablets, so the wifi is a little slow at that time...

overall i would defintely reccomend it for young travelllers, maybe a bit less suitable for those seeking total relaxation though...

Room Tip: if you want wifi inside your room make sure you ask specifically for that!
