“Saw a bazouki concert in courtyard.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

Went to a concert in a courtyard of the castle. Some lovely music and dancing. A very intimate setting with only about 40 in the audience.

“Interesting look into the old aristocracy of naxos”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

The walk through the old market up to the castle is lovely. There are many cats on naxos and you will see them lounging around. The castle is still used on occasion by its current owners but that area is private. The rooms and walls are filled with the personal items of past generations and give some insight as to what life was like. The area below ground displays works of local artists and craftspeople. A taste of locally produced liqueur, kitron, is offered. Events are often held here during the summer but I believe that reservations are preferred due to seating limitations. What we are allowed to see encompasses only two floors and can be done with or without a guide. The entry fee of 5 euros pp includes the tour guide. There is a bathroom for public use.

“Worth getting the tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Our guide, Esmeralda, gave us so much to see, touch and imagine the lives led in this amazing building. Finishing it off with a glass of honey raki. A great insight into the complicated history of the island and all its peoples.

“Nice little museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

WE enjoyed this small museum. They have concerts there in the evening and we totally enjoyed that. The concert was folk music but seemed authentic and charming.

“Concerts are great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

Go for the concerts, they are held in the cellar which has a great atmosphere. During interval there are free drinks either in the cellar or out in the terrace. Very nice atmosphere.
