Great place to stay, the staff is always very helpful, and decor of the hotel is always in perfect order. The breakfast is always good with a wide range selection, and the rooms are always 100% clean. Will recommend any one to stay their when in area either for business or pleasure.

Our stay was very comfortable . Found the beds very comfortable , although they are full/double beds rather than queen size. Our room was clean and well appointed. We would definately consider a stay here again if ever in the area.

Very large room with nice size
Location was fine. Close to interstate to get easy access to nearby communities. My wife and I had a great experience at this hotel. We stated 3 days and found the hotel to be in a convenient location to the Jamestown Settlement, Williamsburg, and Yorktown. It also was not far from Virginia Beach. The gentleman who checked us in was very helpful. I asked for advice on best place to get a seafood dinner. He new the area well and gave great recommendations. The room was much larger than expected and we could not have asked for more. Out of the 4 hotels we stayed at on our vacation, this hotel was the best. We did not use the pool or hot tube, but they looked clean. The hotel is in walking distance of food and shopping, but we traveled more than 2 miles to get to good locally owned eating joints. Also I would add that my room would great for a couple, but would also be great for business travelers. The room was divided into a sleeping area and a visiting area with couch, chair, coffee table, and desk with chair.

The place was clean the bed was very comfortable and the pool was great! Microwave, refrigerator, and coffee pot was very convenient. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Very enjoyable stay. Problem area was the noise from the stores behind the hotel and very noisy children were running all around.

We stayed there recently on a trip to Hampton VA with our basketball team. Everything was good until violators came that were not guests. They left and later came back that evening while the youth and parents were at the pool. It was total chaos. They attempted to come into the pool - argued with the parents and youth - cursing - the N word was used..threatened with guns..etc. The police were called - parents and team was afraid to go to sleep that night. It was horrible. But Marla tried her best to accomodate our needs. She worked hard to try to ensure that everything was taken care of. Why does the hotel have 1 employee at night there when things like this can happen - this needs to be changed!! So much could of happened!! The backdoor was never locked during our stay!! Marla attempted to fix it that night but had to await for JR to arrive. Anyone could of easily came in - which they did for a party that was held on the 3rd floor - thanks JR for taking care of this!! Apparently they were coming in on the pool entrance into the hotel. Another example of unsafe measures. The little man that ran the breakfast was always friendly and attended to us everyday - always had a smile on his face - I can tell he loves his job! This vacation for our team and parents wasn't the best!! They are still talking about it and I feel that something should have been done for this stay via the management. We haven't heard anything!!!

Customer Service and overall safety of my family and my group was violated. We have stayed at this location in the past and it was o.k. This trip I feel that the customer service has gone down. We arrived to eat breakfast and they were taking the bar down well before 9:30 and not even being approachable about it. We stayed there 4 nights and after the 2nd day of raw sausage and rude attendants cleaning and breaking down the food area by 9:15 we decided to go to Golden Corral to eat. Some parents asked what time the bar was closing because there were no more milk for the cereal, regular mix for the waffles (only blueberry) and the lady didn't answer. She was clearly an African American and could speak and understand English but didn't feel the need to. She started cleaning tables and raising the chairs on top of them as to say no more guest were permitted into the area at that time. The elevators had a hideous odor. The pull out bed had about 4/6 springs broken, clearly sticking out of the mattress and was very hard and uncomfortable. The electrical room was unlocked which is a MAJOR hazard for anyone! I found this when I was looking for more nonpaying and threatening guest. Explanation: There were outside violators at the pool and when we notified Guest Services it seemed to be down played. She finally visited the area and out of the 4/5 different groups of guest at the pool, she went directly to the violators which made it seem as if she knew exactly who they were. Prior to her arrival, they cursed at my nephew, smoked cigarettes in the hot tub and used foul and threatening language. They then stared at the kids and asked if there was a problem. Again, when she came outside in a rather calm and subtle manner, she went directly to them and whispered something to them and they then took their own good time, (about 15/20 minutes) to leave the premises. It was just surprising that out of all of the people there she went right to the correct group of trouble makers and didn't seem bothered with them but more annoyed at the complaint. Those same violators came back to the poolside in the evening and tried to start a fight with our group of parents. They cursed, yelled and stated that they had weapons to use on us if we wanted them to. One parent ran to the front and notified the attendant who once again seemed annoyed. We told her that we were going to call the police and she said that she was going to. We had to bring all of our kids and items inside but did not feel safe because the outside pool doors would not lock. The doors to the outside pool area were propped open with towels but even once they were removed, they did not lock and only after continuously complaining and showing the attendant was it fixed which was after 11p.m. The side doors were left propped open for a party that was taking place on the 3rd floor. We did not feel safe at all because young unruly adults were in and out of our 2nd floor constantly and back and forth to get to the 3rd floor. When we walked on the 3rd floor to check out the noise level, there we found lots of smoke and more unruly young adults. When this was reported to the "back up attendant" or the 11 pm attendant he downplayed it as well by stating that this type of stuff just happens everywhere and it's nothing as long as they remove them. He was more focused on the noise level in the lobby. We did not feel safe to be in our rooms and therefore stayed in each other's presence in the lobby until we felt safe to go upstairs. Even then my children were a nervous wreck and could not get any sleep because of this. They were very upset and wanted to leave. We finally got them to lay down at 3 just to get a few hours of rest before checking out at 9. I feel that something more should have been done. We stayed 4 nights and spent a good amount of money and time here and None made it comfortable or a safe feeling for my family. I was very disappointed.

(Property 47123) We deeply apologize to the guests and take the matter with non-guests entering and using our pool VERY seriously. This incident is of great concern to us because the group we hosted was composed of families with many young children. Their safety and well-being is our top priority. We are disheartened that though our desk clerk took appropriate measures when she was notified of the situation, her reputation and actions are being tarnished as if there was a period of delay or inaction on her part. In speaking with Clerk, it has become clear that she believes she encountered the same group of young teens earlier this summer. Taking their age into consideration, she very firmly and with clarity ordered them to exit the property--which they did. Considering the matter resolved, she returned inside the building. Later on in the evening, when the teens returned and the guests alerted her, she both called the local police as well as rushed outside and gained the license plate of their vehicle so that it could also be reported. Again, the actions our desk attendant took, and the swiftness in her response when notified are traits we firmly back and applaud. But as a business, as hosts, and also as parents ourselves, we definitely understand and can relate to the concern and considerable unease everyone felt when the teenagers returned that evening. It is why Marla was alarmed and very quick to call the local police as well as get information on their vehicle; and she physically interposed herself into the situation to clearly announce to the non-guests that they must leave immediately. As a footnote, we are unclear as to the situation with the pool exit. The issue with it's failure to lock was brought to our attention, but when tested and checked--it showed all signs of locking normally and securely. The maglock featured on this exit does have a sensor inside the hallway that unlocks the door for guests EXITING the building, but it very firmly remains locked from the outside. As hoteliers and as people, the safety and comfort of our guests is always a concern. Our hotel apologizes and regrets that our guests encountered this experience, but ask that Clerk's rapid and correct responses to the situation not be diminished. Karan shah, General Manager.

Needing a place for just one night and having MANY choices in this area I am very glad I chose this hotel. I am usually a die hard Holiday Inn person but must admit that I find myself now choosing Bestwestern Inn more often, hotels like this are the reason why!! Thank you for the great service, clean beds and caring staff. I travel for business and spend about 300 nights a year in hotels, BestWestern are quickly replacing all other options!!!
