This is a nice clean hotel. Front desk was helpful and friendly. They gave us water bottles upon our check in. I guess we were suppose to get a discount for the breakfast, but did not. Our room was clean and comfortable. During the night though, my husband kept waking up to noise. He asked about it in the morning and found out they A/C units were right outside our room. We arrived at dark and did not even look outside. They were very nice and gave us a discount for the inconvience. Several Garden Inn hotels put their A/C units right by the room windows. Friends at another location said this happened to them also. You may want to check it out if you have a light sleeper. The pool area was great. Overall I would definately stay here again.

Great property! Clean and up to date furnishings. Staff was pleasant, professional and helpful. Breakfast was great and they even started serving early to accommodate our schedule. Pool was clean and well maintained. Close to restaurants and a movie theatre.

The hotel was great, staff very pleasant. The breakfast buffet was very good, they always had fresh ingredients, and the chef and wait staff were excellent. Our room had 2 queen size beds and plenty of space for storage. We were there 10 days and brought alot of clothes. The pool was very nice, the spa was very relaxing, the only drawback was the spa was not operational for 2 days, this was not that big of a deal. The exercise room was also very nice. My overall experience was great.

We have stayed at the Newport News Garden Inn several times and find ourselves loving it a little more each time. The front desk service is wonderful (special thanks to Brandy & Duane)and we didn't walk past the front desk once without someone wishing us a cheery hello! About 4 or 5 pm the front desk sets out fresh baked cookies. Nice touch! And that is what this hotel is all about ! The service(housekeeping,maint.ect) throughout the hotel is first rate with a lot of attention to detail. This hotel is relatively new (3 1/2 years, I think!) and well cared for. The rooms are spacious with modern decor throughout. Our beds had crisp white duvet covers and were wonderfully comfortable. When we travel we always look full service business facilities (who wants to pay extra for internet service, parking,ect ?) and you certainly have that in this hotel. There is a charge for breakfast however (8.99 I think) but it is a full hot breakfast with a omlette chef who will also make you eggs, french toast,pancakes,ect and they had bacon everyday (very important to my husband LOL) Note: we are Hilton Gold members so breakfast was complimentary for us. If you don't want to eat breakfast at the hotel you will be in a great location for restaurants and shopping (super walmart nearby) also Regal movie house next door.My husband made great use of the business center every day and it is first rate! I really enjoyed the indoor pool and spa. Very clean with lots of towels available and right next to a modest sized but well furnished exercise room. The only downside for me is that I prefer a full size pool for laps but the pool was plenty roomy for water exercises and general swimming. Also I had left my exercise equipment ( pool noodle) behind and the staff was kind enough to keep in the back for me til we returned.
