I didn't read the reviews prior to going to Tucanos, as I prefer to make my opinion based on my visit, and not have a skewed vision from someone else's opinion. I wish I had read the reviews and gone with my gut. I must say that the service was quite good, and that the servers are all very friendly and very attentive. I don't want my review to have any reflection on them, as they have no control over food quality. When we arrived, we ordered a bottle of wine, which, on the wine list, specified it was Penfold's Shiraz Cabernet. When she brought it to the table, it was a bottle of Rawsons Retreat, so we questioned the fact that we had ordered the Penfold's. Our server looked at the back of the bottle, and showed us that yes, it was a product of Penfold's, however, it was not the wine we thought we were ordering, the SMALL PRINT indicated that Penfolds had some interest in the Rawsons Retreat, however, we did not. We had previously had it at another restaurant and knew that we didn't care for it. We ordered another bottle of Washington State Cabernet, which was fine. The salad bar was just ok, nothing spectacular by any stretch, and the meats were less than ok. We had been to Texas de Brazil in Richmond and the skewers of meat that they brought were monstrosities compared to the skewers at Tucanos. It looked like they had skewered bite size pieces of meat on the skewers......not impressive at all. Most of the meat was extremely salty, and not the best quality as far as tenderness and flavor. We were very disappointed in the food and don't plan to return.
