“The perfect place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

My mother, my toddler daughter and I stayed at Jean Marc and Marie Laure's spectacular B&B for three days at the end of June as we explored the Luberon. They were the perfect hosts. The rooms are large, clean and modern with very comfortable beds. The view is lovely. There is also a kitchen next to the rooms where you can keep food in a fridge. Each room has a table outside where you can sit, eat and enjoy your glass of wine. Bonnieux is a wonderful location for exploring so much of Provence - nothing seems to be more than an hour's drive. Staying here was a high light of our trip.

Marie Laure and Jean Marc run a delightful establishment. Every step of the way, they have been prompt and helpful, a boon especially for someone who was making arrangements from Hong Kong. The place itself is a short walk from the centre of Bonnieux (a charming and nicely self-contained village) and has stunning views over the Luberon valley. Each room comes with its own little terrace and one can spend many pleasant hours entranced by the landscape or soaking in the sun. The beds and pillows are comfortable and the room spacious. The communal kitchen is very handy for storing bottles of water or wine and your market day purchases. There are no cooking facilities but you can always put together a simple meal in the kitchen with the olive oil and condiments in the cupboards.

Breakfast deserves a paragraph of its own. There are the usual good French breads and croissants, juices, coffee and a good selection of Twinings tea bags but explore the buffet table more carefully and you will discover a generous jar of local lavender honey (you can buy bottles of this Patrick Agnel honey in the village. How do we know? Because after the first breakfast we bought some from the man himself on market day!) and Marie Laure's homemade jams. The apricot and quince were very good but the cherry was outstanding! Swirl it into your yoghurt, spoon it onto your bread or eat it straight and savour its tart tang. Do also get a boiled egg. They are cooked to perfection and are very fresh.

Well, so there are comfy rooms, gorgeous views and a breakfast fit for gourmands. All you need now are lovely and gracious hosts and that Marie Laure and Jean Marc are. We would love to go back if we had a chance.

Stayed at Les Terrasses du Luberon for 3 short nights in June 2012 - wish it could have been longer. Brilliant experience from the moment we arrived until we left - really could find nothing to fault.
The setting - beautiful countryside and magnificent views. Sitting on our terrace with a chilled glass of rose after a day's sightseeing and taking it all in was sublime.
The rooms - newly renovated, spacious and modern... great bathroom too. Liked the fact they all had their separate entrance.
The swimming pool was very well maintained also, you can see the owners take great pride and joy in the place.
Speaking of Jean Marc and Marie Laure - wonderful pair of hosts. Attentive without being intruding and always there to help and make everyone feel welcome.
Would recommend this B&B without hesitation and hope to be back one day.

We enjoyed three wonderful days at Les Terasses and only wish we could have stayed longer. Stunning views from our private terrace, perfect hosts and a spotless room. We would recommend this chambre d'hote without reservation and hope to visit again before long.

Spent 12 days at Les Terrasses.. the perfect, quiet retreat with the endless view of the valley and the mountains. Each room has a private patio just outside the door is a great place for R&R, and the room and bed was comfortable and spacious.
Jean Marc and Marie Laure were wonderful hosts and breakfasts were delicious.
I was traveling with 19 other artists.... 4 of us at Les Terrasses and the others in town. Our view was spectacular, and it was a great place to set up my easel and paint, right in front of my room. We used Bonnieux as our base and went all over Provence to tour and to paint. Eventually, I hope to have many paintings from this trip on my web site: www.betsykellum.com
Merci, AuRevoir.

This was our second stay at the B&B, having been one of the first guests when the B&B opened last year.
Since our last stay there had been a lot of change. The small bottlenecks completely vanished. The owners have really done a great job.
The bathrooms had been renovated and are now modern and comfortable. The pool is heated and can even be used at bad weather.
Breakfast can now be taken at the outdoor terasse having the lovely view upon the valley. There is a full furnished kitchen (with fridge) for the guest to be used at your convenience.
Jean - Marc and Marie-Laure had been perfect hosts as always.

Overall: We already made our reservation for next year and will come back to that place.....
If not earlier in November ;-)

My wife and I are pretty picky about accommodations while traveling, but I must say that Les Terasses du Luberon was the perfect choice for a ten-day visit to Provence. We stayed with Jean Marc and Marie Laure the entire time we were in France, which is a testament to how much we enjoyed ourselves.

Rooms: Modern, clean, and always kept tidy. There is daily room service where the owners make up the bed and clean up the baths.

Amenities: I won't repeat what many have already indicated about the nice pool, chairs, loungers, and tables but we made full use of them! The views outside the windows are just wonderful with Mount Ventoux in the distance. Sunsets are particularly good, and one can hear the birds chirping even at night.

Breakfasts: The breakfasts were quite tasty, the same offering on most days: soft boiled eggs, fresh bread, great homemade jams (including quince), ham slices, cheeses, and coffee, tea and juices. Guests eat in the sunroom or the terrace depending on weather, which allows for interesting morning conversations.

Service: Superb. We had an issue with our bed sheets being a little warm for us the first night, and the owners took care of that issue with no complaint the very moment we brought it up. They were more than professional and super friendly at the same time. Jean Marc speaks mostly to the folks who are English language speakers -- he has a wonderful outgoing personality but he certainly respects when people want their own space. Marie Laure was also just wonderful and always a great smile and a big help, she speaks a bit of English too.

Other notes: We converted the owner's private pebble driveway into a petanque court (with their permission) for a couple of nights and the owners and guests had a fantastic time drinking wine several evenings. One evening too, the owners treated us to a tapas and wine spread where we stayed up talking late in the evening.

Must do: 1. Try L'Arome and also Restaurant Cesar in Bonnieux for dinner; La Table de Sylvie for lunch. 2. Visit Isle-sur-la-Sorgue on Sunday, go early for the market, then have lunch at La Marmite Bouillonante, a special spot. 3. Take a day trip to Cassis (about 75 minutes away), rent a private boat from Loca Bato, and motor your way over the Les Calanques #3 (en Vau), drop anchor inside the cliffs, dive in and experience a slice of heaven.

Summary: My wife and I will never forget out stay at Les Terasses du Luberon, and if we ever get back, will certainly be staying with Jean Marc and Marie Lure. Highly recommended.
