“Charming hotel near the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

We stayed for three nights recently at this beautifully run hotel/bed and breakfast. It is quite expensive as most things in Ile de Re are but worth every penny. Our room was very nicely furnished and painted in muted greys and blues. There was a walk in shower and very nice products, housekeeping is excellent.

There are two small pools, one more a family pool and the other quieter. There are plenty of sun loungers so no need for the dreaded towel on lounger at 7.00 a.m. syndrome!

Breakfast is served from 9.00 a.m. until 10.30 a.m. and although 12 euros it is very, very nice; nothing runs out, lots of variety, something for everyone.

The hotel has parking and is also very close to the long sandy beach of Bois Plage. One can also hire bikes from the hotel too. They are slightly more expensive than the bike hire shops in the centre of the village but much less hassle to get and no deposit required as the bill goes on the room charge. There is also a fun bar/restaurant and another restaurant within a few minutes' walk from the beach and the hotel.

The owners are in situ and are really lovely as are the rest of the staff. Nothing too much trouble. Children are very welcome.

Room Tip: All the rooms are excellent.

Lovely low rise collection of cottage like rooms with understated decor, muted colours ( v Farrow and Ball!!)' and nice and spacious. Really loved the room although a kettle would have been very much appreciated - they provide cofffee/tea sachets in the room but you have to go to another communal room to make it and i couldnt see any milk around. Breakfast was a little expensive but plenty of choice, thoroughly enjoyed the Hamman and the pool areas were very nice. hames there isnt a little bar and perhaps snacks in the day but then this is very much a glorified b& b rather than a full scale hotel.

The village is pretty but fairly quiet - if you are looking for lots of restaurants, bars and buzz thenhead for St Martin. We enjoyed good meals at The Ocean Restaurant ( altho a little pricey), the couple of restsurants up the road by the beach and the nice little bar just before you get to the market. Lovely covered market in the village, especially the fish stands.

We loved this Hotel so tranquil it was hard to leave on some days. Parked the car when we arrived and there it stayed and went everywhere either by foot or on bikes hired at the Hotel.

Perfect breakfast on the sunny terrace overlooking one of the pools. The staff were very friendly and attentive, as we arrived for breakfast the room was cleaned. The room (cat 3)was lovely with a wet room and little private terrace with table and chairs. No lunch or dinner is served but eateries nearby either the Grillade by the beach or l'Ocean for a nice treat. Drinks are available when required (reasonable price) and croissants laid out in the afternoons which you can help yourself to. We enjoyed bike rides to La Flotte and St Martin. Love this Island!

Beautifully decorated hotel -calm,beachy,grey colours and comfortable relaxing room with our own little patio. Breakfast was good although a bit pricey at 12 euros each for adults. Only criticism is that there are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room itself and no fridge/minibar which would have been useful and expected for the price of the room.
Situated in a very good area -quiet,close to beautiful beach and lots of easy cycling. Recommend.

A small family run hotel in a great location near a beautiful long blue flag beach, its well worth renting a bike ,the cycle-ways keep you off the road and the verity of birds and animals you see even suprised us the, light house and St Martin are a nice ride .Breakfast was a little pricey but was actually worth the money the town was very quite at night but relaxing .

Room Tip: ask for one with a fridge

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We just spent 2 nights in this hotel beginning of November 2012.
Although the weather was quite rainy, the hotel way very nice.
I've probably never experienced such a clean room !!!
The swimming pool must be very nice to experience in summer.
Wifi was also free of charge.
The only negative thing was the bed which was (according to my back) way too soft.
But i do definitely recommend this hotel !

It was our first visit to Ile De Re and we had left reservation of hotels a little late. Having 2 children who wanted a pool made the choice even harder. We were lucky enough to find this hotel.

The rooms are lovely and it is lovated in a quiet town between the sea and the main market square. The town does not have the beauty of Flotte or St Martin but it is good for kids and has enough for them to do (a playground right outside the hotel, some restaurants serving pizza and pasta).

The rooms themselves are located around 2 courtyards in the middle of which are 2 swimming pools. You find the children gravitate towards the deeper of the 2 pools in the lower courtyard which is also warmer. It is not huge but it is great for kids under 10.

The beaty of the courtyard design is that if there is a cold wind then you are protected from this.

The rooms themselves are well designed and our accomodation had a 2 rooms seperated by doors to stop the kids bothering us. The resort is definately more 'international' in its outlook with a nice mix of french, germans, and other Europeans (rather than being dominated by brits).

Breakfast is very good if a little expensive (at €12 for adults and €6 for children). There is a very good bike shop within walking distance and a good supermarket nearby.

Staff were very freindly and helpful. I would strongly recommend.

Room Tip: rooms in the lower square will be quieter in the morning until the kids are attracted to the pool, t...
