As previous reviews have said, it is nice to revisit the carnivore when on Re as the relentless seafood offerings can become a little overwhelming after a few days.
This restaurant is run by a couple who know about food. She runs the front of house and while she can be a little intimidating and perhaps a smile or two would not go astray she also runs a tight ship that functions well.
He is the chef and he knows how to cook. Some classic dishes and some with his own innovative stamp on them. We returned for a second dinner - something we rarely do and left well fed and happy on both evenings.
The food is good, varied and well prepared. Probably 2/3 meat and 1/3 fish based. The formula here works well and for the quality on offer we felt that we got good value.
Service was efficient and attentive with a touch of humour thrown in.
The wine on offer was varied and reasonably priced. You could go stratospheric if you wanted to but the wine list was well constructed. We were most impressed by a young claret @ €16 and very content with a good Burgundy @ €46 per bottle.
Happy to recommend this restaurant but do book ahead as we witnessed a lot of disappointed people with no reservation being turned away.
