“A good night stop.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Very nice room and a good breakfast - who could ask for more? Very useful as a night stop after coming through the tunnel and heading south. Had an excellent night's sleep in very comfortable bed. Located in a fairly anonymous road - worth hunting out.

We stayed for just 1 night on our way south and were wonderfully suprised by this very welcoming stylish boutique hotel. Our hosts couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was just right to set us up for the day.

We stayed here for a weekend and had the most lovely time. The room was stylish, super clean and with all mod cons - tastefully decorated with individual touches. The bed was comfy and enormous, with beautiful cotton sheets. Francois, our host, was so welcoming and helpful - giving us ideas to explore the local area and restaurant recommendations which were superb. Breakfast was lovely and cooked to order. There was an open fire in the evening downstairs in the wonderfully decorated lounge. A fantastic place and great value for money. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. Thanks for a great weekend.

First Francois, the tender, really know how to accommodate. The place does offer a very good amenities through an original and well chosen decoration. You have the sense that any piece was pIckup for it's final purpose. Many original furniture and decoration pieces give you the occasion To travel in different times...
The location is not in the most nice city in the area but is central to discover the "baie de somme" area since all nice spots are close from there. In addition Francois really knowhow to best visit and enjoy food in the region and the best places to do so.

Outside its an ordinary street house with no parking (but on street is fine). Inside its an oasis of a fantastically renovated house with wonderful decor and stylish touches. Great welcome by house owner, superb room with direct view to the cathedral (sadly going to rack and ruin), all mod cons but in a very stylish manner. And one of the best french breakfasts anywhere - home made jams, brioche and plenty more besides......... one only downside were some traditionally noisy french plumbing pipes during the night, so light sleepers may struggle. May have been a one off or in our room only?

Room Tip: there are only 3 to choose from! not sure if plumbing issues exist in all of them, but if you are we...

Dear Charles,

Thank you for your one stop night in La Garçonnière. I hope to see you again next year for your holiday travel. Next spring a private car park will be offert in the garden for the people who need, and the plumbing pipes noises are ok now :-)

We stayed at this bed and breakfast as an overnight stop on our return up through France. The room was a good size with a comfortable seating area and a good size bed. Everything was spotlessly clean and we had a very nice continental breakfast. The outside of the building is a little off putting, as is the access but once you're inside it's delightful. I would recommend this as a stop over.
