We needed a stopover from visiting the D-Day beaches and we needed to break the journey back to Calais - the hotel is located in the sleepiest seaside town on earth with very little amenities available after 5.00-pm but probably not much before then either !
The hotel has a welcoming and homely appearance - bit homespun - with quite gaudy decoration in some rooms. The room was exceptionally clean as was the bathroom, the pink decor of our room was slightly overpowering but didnt stop us sleeping ok - the mattress was a bit marshmallowy and we floated together rather nicely !!! The breakfast was excellent - continental as expected served on some quirky spotty china with a plethora of jams to choose from.
Fecamp as a location is sleepier than a dormouse on sleeping tablets - no late night noises to disturb sleep etc but absolutely nowhere to get a coffee in the evening -
The beach is literally a stones throw from the hotel but is just totally stoney and no sand - it also shelves quite alarmingly so not suitable for children or paddling!
