“perfect for overnight stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2010

After many years of early crossings over to calais with little sleep the night before, we decided to try doing a late night train over and stop here for the night. This hotel was ideal for the job,as it is only 1 junction from the eurotunnel exit (literally 5 mins) We arrived at 11pm french time and a very good night's sleep before setting off down south the next morning. We found it to be quiet, especially as we had air con,and were able to shut the windows. Yes, the beds are firm (good for me)and the rooms are on the smaller side, but perfect for the job as a stoppover and only 65euros for a family room. As we have stayed in b&b hotels before, we personally don't enjoy the breakfasts, so we took some croissants over with us and had them the next morning with a cup of coffee from the machine sitting outside in the sunshine. We will definitely do the same again next year!!

Stayed here for a stop over, location is ok, near a shopping centre with an Auchan etc.

Room clean, beds a tad uncomfy. The children loved their beds up on a mezzanine which is protected by a stair gate. Quiet at night.

Free wifi too!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2009

Stopped here one night on way to Switzerland, and it was exactly what we needed - clean, simple and great value. We too had the family room with a mezzanine for the kids. We first met this setup in the US and thought it was great. The room is small but adequate. We arrived after reception closed, and as long as you ignore the message on the check-in machine that only CB credit cards are accepted, the process is simple. We all enjoyed breakfast which offered all the usual continental selection, plus bacon and scrambled eggs. My only criticism is that the bed was hard - Ok for me but not for my wife.

I stayed here with my family after travelling through the eurotunnel that night. It was exactly what we needed. Nearby, no nonsense, no frills and affordable. its located 5mins from tunnel exit. The 24hr automatic reception works by keying in your reservation code or swiping your credit card, you get a room number and an acess code. The access code opens the main gate to the parking so this is extra security in itself. The family room is a lot smaller than most hotel rooms but considering we spent approx 30 mins in the room in total, other than being asleep, its exactly what we needed. The beds were comfortable and the room very clean. A double with 2 singles on a messanine above the bathroom. -even a gate at the top of the stairs for young kids safety.
Continental breakfast was reasonable for 5e for adult and half that for kids. The following morning I booked a night at the automated kiosk for our return journey. There is a large shopping center nearby with plenty of restaurants for dinner/b'fast but we just wanted to hit the road and keep going!!! Would recommend it as a safe/clean option for families looking for a quick and affordable stopover.

We needed a budget hotel to stay in as we wanted to break up our journey back from Eurodisney and yet be close to Eurotunnel. This chain of budget hotels was reccomended as a good place to stay and rest our weary heads.
The hotel is set in Coquelles in what appears to be a small Industrial estate, however on closer inspection it becomes apparent that other budget hotels (Formula 1, Kyriad) are also there. Nearby we could see Sainsburys and Auchan so we were happy if we needed to do any last minute shopping. I entered reception and was met with the very friendly smiling manager who was happy to let me try out my schoolgirl French. The paperwork was exchanged and he duly explained in English, that entry to our room was via keypad code and he also gave us a code to get in/out of the carpark. As we all walked up the stairs I was wondering if this was a good idea, the stairwell was outside the rooms (i.e exposed to the elements) but we were delighted when we got into our family room. Our room was sleeping four(2 adults/2 kids) and I have never seen anything like it before that made the best use of space. The double bed was just inside the front door, together with a small desk and computer connections etc, there was a small alcove to put a suitcase in and hang up clothes and a small showerroom/toilet/sink. Directly above the shower room were two single beds ,access being gained via a small staircase to the side of the shower room. It gave the impression of being a room within a room. The boys were delighted with this and spent virtually all of the evening in their "den" even though we had the tv !!!! We woke the next morning ,fully refreshed, very comfortable beds and no disturbance from other guests/traffic etc . We then went and had breakfast ,which was a self service Continental style, Croissants/Bread/Coffee/Hot Choclate and even scrambled eggs and bacon were all available for a small fee payable when booking. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel as a great place for a stopover.
If there was one criticism I would make it would only be that it is not a 24 hour reception. If you arrive outside of reception hours , you are asked to programme in your reservation number to be given the keypad number for your room. Being a bit of a technophobe I would be anxious that I would mess things up and end up having to sleep in the car !
