We loved our weeklong stay at Hotel Le Montaigu. Our room was quiet, clean, very comfortable, and had an unmatched view of the village, river and mountains beyond. We slept with the doors to the balcony open and woke to birds singing and church bells each morning. The hotel staff includes several family members who work tirelessly from early in the morning until way past mid night to keep their guests happy and comfortable. Breakfasts were outstanding and three course dinners always delicious, using local ingredients as much as possible. Super friendly hotel. Highly recommend!

Room tip: We stayed in 312, but any room with a balcony would be great. Views in all directions.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was warm in July, and there is no AC, but we just left the doors open and slept well. The room is modestly appointed, but very serviceable. The staff was excellent from the front desk, to the breakfast room, to the maids. Just everyone was friendly and helpful. There was a serious flood on 6/18/2013 and you'll see lots of damage by the river. Also, some roads are closed, so you'll need to plan carefully. You cannot drive from here to La Mongie directly, but will have to go around. Also, about 1:15am, we heard BOOM BOOM BOOM. Looked outside and there was a huge fireworks display. Interesting! Next morning we found out that it was the 30th birthday of a local chateau owner and that's what it must have been about. We had a really nice stay and would choose the Le Montaigu again.

Great place for a couple of nights. Good food, comfortable bed and lovely people. Walking the French Pyrenees, this is an ideal place to stay and they can speak English which made our stay easy and they don't like you to tip!

Room tip: Get a room with a view of the snow topped mountains.

We enjoyed two nights here. The rooms were well maintained, clean and comfortable. It was great to have a bath after a long day walking. The public areas were equally clean and comfortable and the bar area was relaxing. The staff were cheerful and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we could get the most out of the Luz area. We had the set menu for dinner on both nights and thought it was veery good. Breakfasts were buffet style and had plenty of choice. We would go there again

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and had plenty of storage space for our needs. The bathroom was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was simple and delicious. The location was perfect...a little off the beaten path and a quiet at night. We would definitely stay again.
