“Wow! What a great place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

OK - Prades isn't the most attractive town in the world, but the welcome we got at the Villa, coupled with the outstanding room, more tha made up for that. In fact, we had a great little meal in town, then sat and listened to a live blues band in the town square.
The room was large and comfortable - and sitting outside on the balcony in the balmy evening air while watching a storm brewing over the mountains was simply gorgeous.
Breakfast was excellent, and we were sad to leave.
I can't remember the cost - but I'd go back tomorrow if I could!

couldn't have asked for better b & b, location was perfect, breakfasts the best we had in France and the amenities offered were way above norm. we didn't use the swimming pool but it looked great.

thanks Nick and Kate, we wish you a good season in 2014

Room Tip: we liked the palm room it had a corner balcony

A few minutes walk into Prades centre, and within walking distance of good restaurants, bars, takeaways and small supermarket. We had gite Carlit which was just what you would hope for with a gite, with plenty of room to sit/eat outside and a good sized shared pool. With just that it would have been worth 5 stars. But then there is the tourist information (and beer and snacks) available in the main house and then the owners Nick and Kate, who will provide recommendations, phone to make reservations or print out from the computer etc. When we wanted to travel to Barcelona Nick and Kate told us of an alternative rail route that the Tourist Information staff didn't come up with. Saved 2 people 120 Euro.

We keep coming back as no where else do we find ourselves feeling so relaxed and welcome. Everything everyone says about the facilities and comfort offered is true, whilst this lovely, spacious old house has a wonderful atmosphere. Prades itself is delightful - it is a lovely little town and there are usually events in the square on summer evenings and plenty to do during the day. We do not take a car and can really recommend the area for its cheap public transport (long bus trips to the mountains and the train to Perpignan are only 1 Euro) and Nick has lots of advise for walks from Prades. Walking and sightseeing in the warm Catalan sun can be follwed by a swim in the quiet and lovely pool in the garden, and an evening drink or supper on a shady terrace. Can't praise it enough.

Room Tip: We always enjoy having a room with a terrace and well worth getting if available. If not though we h...

When one is sightseeing, a B&B is a place to sleep, have breakfast, and head out to sightsee
At Kate and Nicks Villa - we were so comfy we didn't want to leave. Everything you needed was right there. Breakfasts were wonderful and there is even a fridge on the honour system should you want a cold beer or wine.
Swimming pool, gardens, and very friendly and helpful hosts. Wish we lived closer - we'd be regulars! Thank you

Room Tip: Try to get the rooms on the main floor - 2nd floor is ok, but closer to the attic and a little war...

Kate and Nick are wonderful hosts and run a most lovely B&B with a very relaxed atmosphere. They are extremely helpful and generous and have put lots of thought into ways of making travelers feel comfortable and welcome (e.g. honesty bar, all the help you can ask for regarding activities and local area restaurants, allowing take-away food brought back to and consumed at the B&B, allowing guests to make a small packed lunch at the breakfast buffet)
The house is beautiful and "Canigou" is a very lovely room, with a nice smell and a fabulous view of the mountains.
The breakfast is great; fresh breads, croissants, fruits, cheeses, and all the marmalades, Nutella etc. your children can dream of.
We spent 3 nights at Villa Fabrègue - loved it, and hope to come back.

Room Tip: "Canigou" and "Palm" both have nice terrasses and a lovely mountain view
