“Enjoyed our stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We stayed one night and from the moment we walked in the door, we were well taken care of by Luis. We reserved a room for three and enjoyed a clean space overlooking the square and water. This is an older place, but it is clear that the owners take pride in their hotel. We were in Europe for two weeks and by far the best dinner we had was in the hotel restaurant. Fresh, local ingredients, wonderfully prepared and presented and thoroughly delicious. Thank you Chef Amaury. We had a great server and enjoyed conversing with Luis and Pascaline. Arronmanches is a small town, part of the historic coastline and a 20 minute drive to the American Cemetery and Omaha beach.

Room Tip: Let the owners know your needs. We enjoyed our room, which had wifi. The room was up a narrow stairc...

Stayed here before so was looking forward to staying and eating here. But on arrival a very powerful odour meant we eat out. Worth staying there, close to each, parking a bit of a pain having to part pay for the evening, so get there later!

Luis was supposed to be our host for only 1 night but when we became stranded for 2 nights we couldn't have found a better place to hunker down. Our stay was March 11 and 12. Luis showed us great small town hospitality with a nice clean spacious room and great food. Friendly staff, friendly cat :) and awesome food. We had dinner and two breakfasts where we were able to sample the local fare including the famous Calvados brandy. There was not much to do in Arromanches as the storm had everything shut down around us but we couldn't complain and we will definitely go back some day when the weather co-operates a little more.

Room Tip: Our room had a queen and a single plus pull out single if you needed it and a bit of a view of the o...

This authentic 1908 built hotel, restaurant, bar owned by Luis & Pascaline Rodriguez provided three delicious meals and cozy, comfortable accommodations for five of us using three rooms overnight March 7, 2013. Friendly owners, outstanding chef and charming surroundings. Peppe the cat greeted us and approved our visit. WiFi allowed us to stay in touch with back home email and internet service in the restaurant and bar area. Large windows with scenic view of Gold Beach at Normandy. Nice area to enjoy a walking tour of history and quaint shops for those must have items. Enjoyed our visit thoroughly. Only 400 residents in this town. Restful area compared to busy, hustle and bustle of Paris.

Room Tip: Let Luis and Pascaline help you with your needs.

We were a party of 4 couples over to Ndy last november, Louis and Pasqualine the Owners of this Hotel - Restaurant, were so helpful that made our trip the best in France.
We got lost on the Ndy little roads and this gentleman took his time on the phone to guide. The rooms are small but pretty and warm, no elevator but few stairs to the first floor of this old house converted into a hotel.
The RESTAURANT, now that is an experience... we went to many restaurants on Paris and on the way to Normandy but this restaurant "Papagal" is just unique. They tolad us they had a new Chief from late october, my goodness HE is really good, we had the best well cooked fresh salmon with different vegetables that we didin't know what they were at the beginning but then they told us there were 3 different kinds of carrots !!!! Amazing.
Breakfast was ok
We all be back for the 70th anniversary of the D-Day.

We were looking for a nice place to stay while visiting the D-Day landing beaches... Wow This hotel is really nice, we had a room overlooking the sea and eventhough it was rainning which in Normandy is kind of commun by the way, it was warm and neat. The restaurant of this hotel is just wonderful, they had just changed the chief and we were really surprised of having a real nice french "cuisine" on this side of France other than in Paris.
Congratulations to all the Staff...

3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

Stayed Sept 2012 for 2 nights.
Good location next to DDay Gold beach landing museum, and an uphill trek to the Arromanches 360 cinema, and basically central to all the beaches, Gold being the middle beach. Rooms fairly basic, but thats fine, and hotel next to a few restaurants and has a restaurant itself.
The reason I give it a 3 rating and not 4 is the breakfast. Even for France it was basic and not a lot of effort was put in. Basically a cold of small rolls each, a croissant, pan au chocolat (both not warmed up), and jam, one glass of juice and a coffee, and wait for it..... a babybel ! and this had been left out all night. For 10 Euro's I would have at least expected some cereal, soft cheese choice, and maybe ham.
Apart from that a nice stay. Oh, everywhere in Arromanches shuts at 9pm apart from one bar.

We thank you for your time on tripadvisor.
We are glad you had a good time in Arromanches.
Our breakfast is a continental breakfast and our "ROLLS" are fresh frm the morning since they are delivered by the bakory itself and OF COURSE they are cold by the time you eat them. They are never hot... If you find a Hotel in France that serves HOT croissants and Pain au chocolat... let us know, because they will be frozen !!! It looks as you didn't find the yogurts and fresh apple fruit and butter on the basket placed in the middle of the restaurant... since you don't mention them, You could have got as much as apple juice and as much coffee or the or hot chocolat as you wanted.
A slice of ham... why didn' you ask the waiter ? we are ready to serve you.
We thank you again for your visit.
