I have a rule of thump when it comes to eating out. The bread: good restaurant do some times carry bad bread, but the lousy ones never have the good one. Well, there was nothing wrong with La Marine's bread. It was tasty and had very nice crunchy crispy crust. I had a green salad for starters and what I got actually already made me a devoted fan of the place. It was a green salad so divinely seasoned that I have never tasted anything similar, really I mean it. It was just a green salad, but it was still made with love, compassion and competence. I had grilled sardines as a main course, but was not that impressed. Do not get me wrong it was more than ok, but perhaps my expectations were a bit too high after the excellent start. The whole thing: green salad, acqua minerale, sardines, ½ bottle of Chaplis, double espresso, and a calvados cost me 59€, which was about the mark given the quality of the restaurant, the excellent service, and lovely view. Do not let the tripadvisor to fool you, this is the number one place to go in Arromanches.
