“It was food and they were open...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013 via mobile

Most places seemed to be closed so our choice of where to go was limited. The food was okay... By that I mean it was edible.
It's certainly not the type of food you taste and start planning your return visit.
It was plain and uninspiring, but we were hungry, so just got on with it.
The service was rushed and left us with the feeling that the serving staff wanted to go home. We were in and out in under 40 minutes... And back to our accommodation by 8pm.
I really think there is better in the town, so this will remain down the 'return' list.

“We were very happy with the service and the food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

I have seen some bad reviews but our experience was very good. Our bus group arrived without warning followed by a second bus of school kids but in spite of that everyone was served reasonably promptly. The wait staff spoke enough English that we had no trouble. We both had something like “Cocque Monsieur” which was a grilled cheese sandwich with cheese melted on he outside. Someone else in our group had “Cocque Madam” which is the same thing with two fried eggs on top. One person ordered a chicken sandwich and it came on half a baguette, quite substantial. The place mats have a map of the D-Day landing beaches and the back has a coloring page for kids, a nice touch. There are also some photos and artifacts on the walls. I’d eat there again if we were in the area.

“Dinner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

We had people tell us not to go here but on the Monday the 12th it and one other place was the only area in town to eat. My daughter and i when in and ordered, It was a bit like Fawlty Towers where i think the cook was the waiter also. We spoke a little French and this i felt helped us get our meals that little bit faster. The food was great, service was a tad cold. But then i when there for a meal not to become his best friend so all good from my point of view.

“Avoid”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

I can only speak of there restaurant. Tourist ripoff. Worst moules marinières I have ever tasted. Obviously microwaved. Dry to the point of being crisp. Others of the party left most of their choices too. Avoid.
