“Lots to see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Loved the cinema. Nothing bad to say about it at all. We were there the day after Armistice so everything was shut on the Monday after the 11th but because we were there for a few days it did not matter.

“Rude Staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

Been to this museum many times before without problem, this time I was actually told (rudely) to be quiet by a member of staff who was taking a group of students on a lecture. This is despite the fact that she could be heard all over the museum and I was mearly talking about an exhibit to a friend about 5 mtrs away from her.

“Fascinating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Well, apart from walking on the beach when the tide is out, this is the main attraction of Arromanches and quite a visit it is. You are steeped in the history of D-Day from the outside surrounded by artillery and other WWII memorabilia and the view of the remnants of Mulberry Harbour as those cold waves roll in from the Channel and inside it's the sound, sea and fury of D-Day in film, in pictures, in artifacts, in uniforms, weaponry etc etc, very well done, including a huge mock-up of the artificial harbour and how it was made and functioned. What's special too is that as you move along the exhibition, you can literally look out the huge window that forms one side of the exhibition and see the remnants of Mulberry, which was huge! Kilometres long!

“Very interesting visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The Musee has a very long glass cabinet with models of ships, tanks, etc. showing a mockup of the events involved in the DDay landing. This was explained by a French guide - which got a bit boring after a while, so I drifted off to see the film of the landing which was showing in the theatrette and this was very good.

“Movie was good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

The movie/newsreel concerning how the temporary harbor was built was very interesting, but most of the displays were the uniforms the troops wore in the liberation of France. Excellent views of the remains of the temporary harbor. Very nice little town. Worth a stop, but don't expect an all inclusive lecture on Operation Overlord.
