it's not for everyone, obviously, but we liked it so much we returned on our way home. We worried that it wouldn't be clean (it's immaculate, and every morning they're out cleaning down the porch with brushes and sweeping the tiled walkway in front of the rooms), there would be no AC (ancient, but works fine), bathroom would be dumpy (great old tile, a gigantic shower with terrific water pressure and amazingly nice towels - the best we had on our trip), beds would be
terrible (fine one night but the next stay we had the swayback low mattress - needed a foam eggcrate mattress topper). But everything worked and was pleasant. Someone had painted lovely little vines with berries on the walls, the hangers are covered with gingham, and there's even a teeny ironing board. Quirky, yes, but charming - beautiful flowers outside. You DO need to like cats, which we do. AND THE PRICE!
There's a new seafood shack in town that's very good. Southern Kitchen looks great, but the food should be better - gluey pies, greasy chicken, tasteless pork chops. Sausage and eggs good, though. Weak coffee, as one would expect.
try out the bed first - they can vary quite a bit
