This is a 2 story hotel with at least 200 rooms I think. I can't say much for some of the rooms, but for where I stayed at, Rm. 251. It was decent. room was next to the stairs, ice and vending machines. It wasn't so bad, as there wasn't too much traffic going on anyway, Nice thing about this room though, I can open the curtains without concern of people looking in.
Hallway, with dated dark carpeting, cigarette smoke smell and limited lightings used, it has the feeling of a very cheap rundown hotel.
My room was, decent, meaning, though carpet is old and dark, we had a pretty clean room, no smell, no roaches or bugs, bathroom was nice actually except that the exhaust fan wasn't working, sure there are some wallpapers that seems to be peeling but it is not a big issue.
The bed was not bad, my mom who is 74 and with back problem slept pretty well, and so did I, the beds are not super comfortable. but at least there was no springs poking our backs, the only complaint about these beds will be perhaps the sides (edges) of bed are a bit worn down, so we slept at the middle of the bed or at least to the most comfortable part of the bed. The beds are clean, no bugs, got 3 pillows for each frame.
The usual microwave oven, ref, box tv which were all working fine. we got 2 chairs and a table too.
Perhaps the biggest opps the hotel missed is the wifi. From my room, It is a miss and hit on getting connected, since I don't; really check emails or see important files on line, I mainly used it to see what are places nearby and of course mapquest, it is not a big thing for me, but perhaps those others who can't live without being connected, better think twice.
No free breakfast, I guess the reason being,is that there is already a restaurant attached to this building and Quality Inn itself don't have its own dining area. We didn't eat there, Mom is content just having 2 slices of bread and a jam. Coffee on the house but we didn't even touch it, having been to several places/hotel offering free coffee, all of them has been bad.
Front desk was hospitable. Lobby is dated like the hallway, but without the smoke smell. I didn't use the pool
Overall, I think it was a pleasant stay for me and mom. We don't really complaint much but of course some standards need to be met. A room with no smell, no bugs, clean sheets, clean bathroom, decent air conditioning are some of the things we all wanted. It maybe dated, but then again, if the business is not making enough profits, having to have the place renovated is no small task that is why, I rated this place towards very good instead of just good.
A suggestion to the management, hoping you are reading this.
More lights into the hallway, and please don't use those white ones, its makes the hallway look dark and dull.
Redesign your ventilation system in the hallways.
Better coffee gets you a long way.
