We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. First, the pre-stay communications. It started off with the hotel being unresponsive to my initial inquiry. But, after a quick follow up, the general manager immediately replied and was very apologetic. My original email probably got lost somewhere in the cloud. Thereafter, they have been very responsive and helpful - and I wrote quite a few emails with plenty of questions. The rates were not the cheapest but not crazy either. Considering that breakfast was included, and wifi was free (although can't stream anything), we thought the rates were fair.
Second, the stay. The hotel was right in front of Parque Central. It was also beautiful. It had a small pool and breakfast was served in the pool area. We opted to have a balcony view of Parque Cental. The room was very spacious, had air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The bathroom was modern (shower only, no bathtub) and very clean. The bed was comfortable. My favorite part of the room was our large balcony. It had two rocking chairs and a table -- a perfect place to sip the local rum (flor de cana) or any other drink when having a nightcap or just a comfortable place to people watch during the day.
Third, the breakfast. The menu changed everyday but, for the most part, the dishes we chose that were traditional Nicaraguan food were tasty. The time I chose to eat the eggs benedict, it was not very good.
Fourth, the people. All the staff we met were very helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Virginia who arranged our transportation to/from the airport (the hotel does not contract with anyone but just makes arrangements with third parties -- payment goes directly to the third party vendor). When the car service came late and we ended up getting a cab from the airport to the hotel, she was very apologetic and ensured that our transportation back to the airport was timely. Sure enough, when we were about to head back to the airport, which coincidentally was on a day when there was a taxi strike (where the taxis blocked the entire street and left their cars there) that shut down the street in front of the hotel, our car was early. Virginia was also a great source of information about the city. She was also very helpful when something went awry with our flight. The other staff members from the servers (breakfast) to the cleaning people were all very friendly.
Overall, we had a great stay at the hotel.
