“really nice place to stay in Granada”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

We stayed a few days in this hostal, and we will certainly recommend it to people who want to stay in a quiet and relax place. There are a lot of amenities offered in the price you do not find in the other hostal: water refill (avoid buying too many plastic bottles), free coffee, good kitchen and well equipped, and the hostal is really well located. on top of that, Cesar is a really nice person, and if visiting Granada, one has to stop by just to chat with him and visit his shop at the entrance of the hostal. really inspiring.

Me and my boyfriend loved this hostal. It's really quiet and peaceful, the owner is lovely and the jewellery he makes is beautiful. We had a private room with a bathroom, it was clean and comfortable and never really got too hot. I really recommend this place. It's so cheap too!

Cesar is a down-to-earth, hard-working, awesome dude who gets it. His English is great, he knows what it's like to travel, he's an admirable business owner and generally super interesting and knowledgeable. My boyfriend and I didn't actually stay at his hostel, but went in the "gift shop" in the front of it on a whim during our trip to Granada in May 2013. The shop is an artist's cooperative with real stuff made by real people from the community, at decent prices. Cesar didn't harass us about buying anything in the shop, but was attentive when we had questions, and we ended up chatting for upwards of an hour near the end. If we would have known about him before, we would have stayed at his place no matter what. Dude's legit.

Entre Amigos is a great value for Granada. Everything that has been said about the owner, Cesar, is absolutely true and I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

I stayed at Entre Amigos with my two young sons for 3 nights at the end of May 2013. The courtyard is small but just the right size for the number of rooms, and they have a lot of movies to choose from to watch on their tv/vcr. There is no ac, but our room had both a standing fan and a ceiling fan which was enough to keep us comfortable at night. The beds are firm, the shared kitchen is clean and well stocked. The wifi is consistent and available in the rooms.

Cesar was great with my kids and also helped us find a place to stay long-term and schools (art and language) for my boys. My son had an infection and he helped us find a (free) doctor next to the pharmacy. They have plenty of books to read - some travel books too - and Cesar always seems to have discount flyers to popular places.

A very quiet and nice hostel well situated. It is not very big but this guarantees a very calm stay in Granada. The hostel has ALL the services you need: lots of books and guides left behind by travellers, a nice patio, TV with movies to watch, clean shared areas: kitchen, toilettes and showers. And lockers for the personal belongings.

The dorm can be a bit crowded though, since it has 4 single beds and 4 double beds! However, it going in low season, it is nice to have a nice sleep and rest in a double bed, probably the best beds-matresses I have been in hostels. It is also situated in the back of the hostel, so it is quite and one can sleep with the door open to get some fresh air, otherwise, turn up the funs!!!

The staff is great and helpful, always handy and ready to help and to give you hints on Granada. They also have a shop with locally made crafts by an association, nice but a bit expensive though... but I guess it goes with the association behind them

Thumbs up to Cesar! On my second stay at the hostel, after coming back from Ometepe and having made a reservation before leaving, I just found that no bed was available :( You can always find any other hostel in the same street (there are quite a few), but I just felt dissapointed after 5 hours of trip from the island and just wanted to leave my bag and relax, not wanting to go under the heat around looking for accommodation. After some talks with Cesar, we ended up agreeing to occupy a small single room (nothing special, a bit hotter, closer to the street, so a bit noisier and next to the kitchen) for a night before moving to the dorm, and at the price of a dorm. Fair solution, but dont know whether originally proposed by them or just after telling them of my intention of a bad evaluation in tripadvisor.

At the end the solution was good for both, since the hostel was not full, but just ensure when you made a reservation they take it! Otherwise, the hostel shall not take any reservation, in particular for dorms and in pick season

However, overall and excellent and pleasant stay! If I go back will definitely return to Entre Amigos, perhaps without a reservation :P

Thumbs up for Cesar and the crew! Very helpful and always giving you the right information

Nos vemos por el mundo CEsar! Un fuerte abrazo de Sebastian!

It's a small hostel, with a few private rooms and a dorm. The owners are always there, because they run a small shop with handmade jewelry, wallets, belts and souvenirs. The owners are very nice, helpful and one of them speaks english. There is free drinking water to refill. A small patio with chairs and tables to relax in. A couch and a TV with many movies. Two notebooks which you can use for free. Location is good, near the city centre, safe street to walk in during the night.
But, there is no a/c and during the dry season it's toooo hot. Rooms are small and get their fresh air only from the patio, no wind. So only with a fan it was way to hot for us.
Shower wasn't working during the day. During the morning and evening it was working, but gave a few drops, not a real shower. Maybe this is a problem of Granada, but for us it was bad: when it was too hot, you even can't take a shower to cool down..
Luckily a few streets from the hostel there's a pool you can dip in for $5 each... There's an other cheap hostel in town which has a pool, and there is a nica guesthouse with a/c for same price.

First of all, Thank you very much for having stayed at our place, also appreciate the time you took to describe what we offer,
We are a new place with only seven months open but we want to offer all the best we can in spite of that there are things that are a little difficult such as the swimming pool, because of space of course, we prefer the patio and the garden, but obviously if we had a space larger for sure you'll see a nice and refreshing swimming pool next year,
About the A/C, put me on the list of those who complain a lot during the day, and you were in "the rainy season"
(the funny thing is that it's the time of year when more water problems we have,to blame a foreign company responsible for providing such service i don't think it's the solution but.. )
you should come in the summer, believe me it's horrible but either way we have to get used to.
Despite the absurd prices of electricity my next goal is to put A/C in some of the private rooms because I know what it feels like, but do not think you're going to pay $ 5 for this service,no,no :)

thanks again for your brilliant comments and hope you have good travel wherever you go..
